I was scared of going through a divorce: scared of the process and scared of the outcome. Raquel Vallejo was a Godsend! This past year was probably the worst time of my life. First a Domestic Violence charge and then a contentious divorce with child custody. On top of this I had to sell the ...home, be a loving mother for a toddler and work full-time. Raquel guided me through the process and gave me realistic expectations given my situation and years of marriage. At times I did not want to hear it but she kept me grounded with the reality of the situation. The relationship with my now ex-spouse during the divorce process was not easy and at times it was terrifying. Raquel “held my hand” when I needed it most, she listened, and she truly cared. There were numerous unpleasant times during the divorce. Throughout it all Raquel always kept me focused and gave me strength to keep going, especially during mediation. She worked tirelessly and aggressively to ensure the best possible outcome for my daughter and me. She saved me a lot of money in alimony and I can’t thank her enough. Raquel is a sharp lawyer who knows her stuff. She was always well prepared for court, on time with appointments, organized, and quick to respond to all my questions and concerns. A true professional! She is very approachable and above all human. The fact that she is fully bilingual was of tremendous help for me as she helps me understand some things in my own native language. That is Exactly what I think of Ms. Vallejo, an Angel. At a time when I felt lost and hopeless because of all the legal matters my ex-husband was putting me thru, Ms. Vallejo was truly a life saver. As a single mom of two daughters and not having family around to discuss my options or have someone ...to lend an ear, Raquel was that person for me. Being a legal assistant, I am surrounded by lawyers all the time so I wanted to make sure that the attorney I hired would be one that was attentive and supportive and not give me the run-around. When I contacted her about my situation - there was no hesitation and she was able to meet with me right away and informed me of all my options. I had been divorced for a few years and needed help with issues pertaining to my PSA. Ms. Vallejo was able to detect inconsistencies in my decade old documents to which she made sure that everything was revisited and revised. Raquel was able to get a judge to take me seriously because I was well equipped with legal representation and it is only because of her that I was given a fair chance in Court. When issues were raised that I felt were unjust, she would remind me to stay strong because we were here to fight for the rights of my daughters. She would hold my hand when needed and when my thoughts drifted into a different direction, she would snap me back into place and remind me to stay focused. Raquel is not only extremely smart but always on her toes. She is very kind and patient, a true professional in her field. Not once did I have to worry about her being late or unprepared, that was never the case. She was always punctual, well prepared, well groomed and very professional. The fact that Raquel is Hispanic is a PLUS, because I was also able to communicate with her in Spanish when there was something I couldn’t translate in English. She has a kind heart which is something very valuable in this profession. You can see the love that she has for her job thru her eyes, this is truly her calling, and I will be eternally grateful to her for fighting for my daughters future. I highly recommend Ms. Vallejo to anyone going thru a divorce. I can guarantee you she will have your best interest at heart and have your back no matter the situation.
