In my 12 years as a public defender the compliment I heard most often from my clients was, “You talk to me like a real person, you really seem to care.”
As I see it, I have two main jobs as a lawyer. The first is to fight hard for my clients, whether that means winning at trial or negotiating to make the best of an unwinable situation. The second, equally important, job is to be an advisor, a counselor. Your case is your own, and at the end of the day it is your life it will impact. My job is to make sure that, at every stage, my clients are well-informed, that they know what is happening, know what my professional assessment of the case is, and have everything they need to make the best decisions about their case for themselves. It is this same philosophy that guides me now in private practice.
My time in the trenches of criminal law gave me the kind of intense trial experience you can’t get anywhere else, but it also taught me what people need from an attorney when they are facing terrifying consequences. Being charged with a crime may feel like the hardest, most frightening time of your life. But I believe that with a good attorney you will have the assurance that you are never alone, that you have a trustworthy ally and advisor every step of the way.

Caring attorney
Was facing a year mandatory in jail Megan had those driving charges dismissed when another attorney was pushing a green sheet for me to pled out. She's by far what a real attorney is suppose to be I'd hire her before I'd take another court appointed attorney were I'm nothing to them.

All-Star Attorney! Went *WAY* above and beyond my expecations to get me Justice!!!
I was charged with some serious offenses that I was innocent of BUT with a different lawyer I could have been in prison for as much as 20 years!! (Maybe more!) Attorney Meaghan Cary was my SECOND court-appointed public defender because the first one I had representing me was arrested for a DUI in ...
"I highly recommend Attorney Cary for any matter relating to criminal charges. Attorney Cary's experience as a public defender would be invaluable to anyone who retained her services. Not only does she understand the law and the nuances of the court process, she is a fierce advocate for her clients."
"Meaghan and I have worked together and workshopped each other's cases for nearly a decade, and I can honestly say she is one of the best lawyers I know. I still feel like I "got away with something" by being able to hire her to work in my firm as a supervisor this summer!"
"Attorney Cary is an incredible advocate. Her intelligence and dedication to each client is unparalleled. I endorse attorney Cary without reservation."
