Lori D. Howard

I have worked with Ms. Howard more than once and she has and always will have my recommendation. She is a phenomenal attorney and an even better person. She truly cares deeply. Her advice is gold and it may be hard for you to swallow at the time but it's extremely important to take her advice to a T.... She's solid and thorough in court but also provides very calming relief. She walks with you step by step in the hardest of times and the best of times. Her caring nature and strength in court is why I recommend her to everyone who asks. My first time working with her was in 2015, she was amazing then and still is to this day! She knows her stuff just trust her. Any reviews you see on her not caring about kids or her clients please move past those because hands down she is my son's guardian angel and she cares very deeply for children especially! AMAZING ATTORNEY for divorce, custody, adoption and much more.

I’ve written one review and I’ll write another to back up my 1st review. Lori claims she spoke to my character witnesses which I’ve researched and none of them, except for 2 of my close friends and my mother, claim she ever called them (believe me I called each and every one of them and she never cal...led them, one of them even called her) Lori also claims I was represented by counsel and was able to present evidence which is also incorrect considering I was not allowed to present evidence due to the fact I wasn’t able to retrieve my files from my last attorney (who gave me a full refund due to his negligence) within 5 days of my hearing (which most likely also played a part in me losing my case) other than the negligence of Lori. She has yet to present any clear evidence. None of her calls were recorded and she never did a home visit or anything to back up any of her assumptions. Also. I sent her time stamped forwarded emails from September where I had sent my information for in. It was her negligence and her duty to have obtained that information. Her job was suppose to have been to represent the children. She clearly aided in representing my ex-husband.

I was going through a custody battle with my ex-husband nearly 3 years after our divorce. After nearly 3 years of his absence he decided to file for full custody once he was re-married in order to avoid paying child support because his new wife( who was claiming child support from two separate father...s) advised him to do so. I requested an ad Litem through my attorney, and we agreed on Lori. What a nightmare. If I’d only known then what I know now, I would have never allowed this heartless, money hungry woman to determine the lives of my children. I filled out her paper work and sent it in to my attorney three months before she ever contacted me. When she did contact me, she pointed out to me the many times she’d already spoken and had contact with my children’s father. She was rude, short and not interested in anything I had to say. She even told me our first conversation would have to be quick and to the point due to the fact she had other appointments. Through her sarcastic expressions and rude interruptions, she made it very clear that she already had her mind made up about me. I emailed her clear evidence to prove my stand against my children’s father and she didn’t present any of it in court and even allowed him to get away without a drug test. I would never ever recommend this woman to represent your children and them be placed in her evil hands in court.

I could go on and on about Lori. I usually tend to write too much, so I am going to do my best to be short with this review and get straight to the point. Lori was my attorney in my very brutal and complicated divorce case. Even when I felt at my lowest, Lori always gave me words of encouragement and... she also has true, genuine empathy for her clients. She really does work hard for her clients and gives the advice she does for a reason. Whether you may be floored with the advice given or not. Her legal advice during whatever process you are going through is for your benefit as her client. She knows how the court system works, we as clients obviously do not. So I strongly encourage any of you hiring Lori to PLEASE take her advice and obey it to the fullest extent so that you will hopefully get the results you are desiring in your court case. Finally, Lori is just amazing. Period. When you get lucky enough to find a lawyer that’s not just knowledge to the laws and the way court works, but also as stated earlier: empathetic and truly caring...you can’t beat that! She’s worth every penny. Trust me. Forget any negative reviews you may find on her. Those people clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. Sit down, take notes, and keep your mouth shut and your ears open. You’ll thank her later. I promise. :)

On the first visit with her, she said she could do everything involving my case for $1,000. When I came back on the second visit with the money, she had me to sign an agreement saying $1,000 was a retainer and the charge per hour $175. BUT she said it would still be under $1,000. I trusted her which ...was a mistake. Got a bill for the first month for $367! I had to fire her because the first six weeks I was charged $560. The case was just getting started and over half of the $1,000 was gone. It seemed to me to be a bait and switch with a false promise thrown in. She didn't always answer email questions but when she did, it was "I don't know" I don't believe so" "I haven't done that yet" to the SAME questions each time. She was billing for reading the emails and then for answering them, usually the same questions. It was not a good experience because I felt like I had been conned and my money had been wasted. Would not ever recommend her.
