I found the mistake that the ex knew about-- Ms. Kugler put my inheritance monies in the marital column of the balance sheet-it was switched on the last revisions (where she also put in other wrong information that the ex had to correct because it was against him (like verbiage about paying mortgage... when the house was paid off years ago) . I pleaded with her to double check --She told me she checked but did she? Now I know why she could never answer my question I posed to her over and over "why do I have to pay the ex $63,000?" All she would say is you came out ahead.. In reality No I didn't. I thought I was getting alimony here I didn't and gave the ex who made 3 times the money I did my had earned savings. My Aunt had listed everyone elses husbands on her will but not my ex--she knew the abusive marriage I had to live though... Ms Kugler added to the abuse when she wouldn't fight for my fair share because "I don't want your ex to sue me" --(in front of multiple witnesses) Now I'm wondering did she even turn in for a continue trial date (I never saw any paper work that she did ask for it). I'm going to check with Anoka county to see if she even did what she said she did. When I hired her I hired a TEAM. She had a legal secretary and paralegal but suddenly I was seeing things done by her (and her rate) that the paralegal would have done. I even interviewed her paralegal and secretary before I signed on with her-a lot of good that did when she was busy signing on to a new firm in the middle of my case. (I would have like to have know that before I signed on with her! ) Now my only recourse to sue her for malpractice because she won't talk to me I lost inheritance monies, I lost the ex wage increases under contract that she never followed up on. (Found out this year the Teamsters were in the middle of a contract with hefty wage increases) She cost me thousands more in new attorney fee's so I could get the QDRO finished--something that should have been done BEFORE anyone signed the decree. Even the judge told me how DANGEROUS this was because I could have lost EVERYTHING. One would think an attorney of 13 years would/should know this. Finally, I asked her to just call this a wash--since I lost far more than what I owed her...she said NO. Not to contact her unless I was paying her. BE WARNED history has a way of repeating.

Karen is extremely knowledgeable in family law. In my court case the referee stated that her written argument enlighten him to on the issue. She is well respected by the court. She is understanding to the flaws of the system and will not tell you what you want to hear, she will give you the facts ...and not sugar coat it. She is honest and fair.
