Jaimee Chaveed McDowell

 Jaimee C. Holmes, former Jaimee C. McDowell, is a self professed military brat. Growing up in a military family Jaimee has lived in Japan, Italy, and Germany; just to name a few places. Having the opportunity to travel the world at a young age has taught her how to work with many different types of people and instilled in her a strong sense of family and community. Despite living in various countries Jaimee calls Maryland home; graduating from high school in Waldorf Maryland.  Jaimee went on to graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park. Go Terps!  While at the University of Maryland Jaimee ran track for the school team.  In 2007 she graduated with a BA; double majoring in Criminology and Psychology, and a minor in Black Women's studies.  After graduating college Jaimee received her J.D from Florida Coastal School of Law.  While in Law school Jaimee received many awards and honors. Jaimee was a member of the Mock Trial team; and during her first competition her team took first place. This was the first time in the history of the school that any Mock Trial team had placed first in any competition.  Prior to graduation Jaimee worked with the Office of the Public Defender for a year and a half; working on over 100 cases, 3 of which she took to trial.  Upon graduation Jaimee received the Pro Bono Award for having done over 125 hours of Pro Bono work.  Prior to opening her own practice Jaimee spent some time interning in the Charles County Office of the Public Defender; where she gained valuable knowledge and experience.  Jaimee spent a lot of her time working in the juvenile courts.  Jaimee has always had a passion for working with youth both professionally and personally.  Besides working with youth in the juvenile court system Jaimee is very involved with the youth in her community.  She teaches children's church; and was co-director for the children's Christmas musical at her church.  She has spoken to girls at the Tri-County Youth Services Bureau, Inc. (TCYSB)  TCYSB is a community-based, private nonprofit organization that provides delinquency prevention, suicide prevention, drug and alcohol prevention, information and referral, youth development and counseling services to youth and their families in Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties.  Jaimee spoke to the girls in Waldorf about planning for their future, and dressing for success   Jaimee also does a lot for the youth, and the community, through her sorority; Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.
