Daniel was born in Wisconsin and spent time living in a variety of States throughout his childhood. Daniel also lived in the Dominican Republic, his father’s home country, for over six years with his family. There, Daniel became fluent in Spanish and developed an intimate connection with his Latin heritage. Daniel moved back to North Carolina and eventually received his JD from the Charlotte School of Law, graduating with a Certificate in Advocacy, and received his law license in May 2015. Daniel worked alongside various non-profit agencies in Charlotte throughout his time in law school, including Legal Services of Southern Piedmont, Council for Children’s Rights, and interned with a Federal Judge. Daniel joined International House in August, 2015 and works with refugees and other immigrants with scarce financial resources.
When he is not engaged helping immigrants navigate the tangled system, Daniel enjoys spending time running, mountain-biking, practicing yoga, performing music and participating in community events.
