Anna Prettyman

Avoid this attorney at all costs. She took my money and failed to provide the services promised. She did not advocate for me during the divorce process and even misled the judge by claiming she would submit the divorce decree—yet she didn’t even draft it by the deadline I was divorcing an abusive na...rcissist (Brad Nordin), who hit me and instead of protecting my interests, she allowed his attorney to control the negotiations. When I pushed back, she threatened that going to court would cost “tens of thousands of dollars,” even though I had already paid her $40,000 for just one month of representation. Her actions were dishonest, unethical, and caused unnecessary stress and delays. In my experience, she cannot be trusted. Do yourself a favor and find another attorney. I have reported her to the bar and strongly encourage you to do the same if you experience anything similar.

I should have read more reviews. I read the first couple which were all great reviews. I had an initial telephone meeting with her where she made me feel like it was imperative to get her the retainer so she could start on my case right away. Was extremely responsive when asking how to get her the mo...ney and then as soon as she got my money it would be days until I got an email response which consisted of sending documents to review. Never once acknowledging questions I had asked or providing paperwork outlining what to expect which I requested SEVERAL times. I feel taken advantage of during an extremely tough situation that involved my ex withholding my children from me and I was heart broken due to police not helping and then to be taken advantage of by an attorney that’s supposed to help me really just shows you cannot trust anyone. It’s sad and idk how this woman sleeps at night taking advantage of people like she does. All of the previous 1 star reviews that have been written are spot on. I wish I would have seen them prior to sending thousands of dollars. Zero communication. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

We initially hired her at a flat rate and paid CASH - however we realized quickly on that she was not fully reading or understanding our emails. There was one question directly asked of Anna, she never replied other than to ask for more documents - once those documents were provided she still never a...nswered the question. She asked for documents from a county that was completely uninvolved in this matter, but made it very apparent she either did not read, or did not understand the email which was sent. We never signed a retainer, never discussed or signed a fee agreement, never discussed or signed anything. We asked for our money back, and Ms. Prettyman obliged by making up an invoice showing that at least in one instance she was billing for printing and reviewing the same two documents twice, exploiting the flat rate we'd initially agreed to, then sending the remainder of the funds in two separate payments. Again, for the record, we paid in one single payment, cash up front.

If you need a hard hitting lawyer, Anna Prettyman is the way to go. Her rates were great and affordable. She is very caring and considerate. She made sure that we were happy with the outcome. I hired Anna for joint custody of my daughter and for child support. We won both cases thanks to her. My fi...ancé found her and everyday I'm thankful she did. I went from hardly being able to see my daughter, to seeing her half the time. The mother of my child would only allow for me to see her on her terms. It was really stressful sometimes, but Anna helped us get through it. As a dad it's not always easy when it comes to custody, but she gave me a lot of hope because at that time my spirits were low. Anna is the only attorney I will ever call. She really set the bar. She never told us anything just because she thought that's what we wanted to hear. Even with all the hurdles, she found a way around it. She is truly a great woman to work with. She helped keep my family together and brought us closer. I get to be the dad I have always been trying to be. Thanks to her I get that chance. I will never forget this Anna, thank you.
