AmEX froze my account after I placed a fraud claim. They told me the unauthorized charge of $700 was "authorized". I called PayPal (the merchant that charged me) they investigated and found it to be a fraudulent charge. They told me that AmEx never even called to investigate the charge. Not only did they unfreeze my account and return ALL my money (even the $700 from the fraudulent charge), he was also able to get me a settlement on top of that. He did all this in less than 60 days.
