Confused with the fees charges.....

Blake Thomas helped with Chime , but at what expense? They settled for $3,950.00... I had to pay $2,634.65 in contingency fees and other expenses to the attorney. I never received the check, so I asked to have it reissued. I was then charged $250 more just to have the check reissued 5 months later si...nce I never received the first one. Out of $3,950.00, I was left with only $1,066.00 that I guess I'll receive one day in the mail. The new tenant sent back all of the mail she received for me, but the post office never forwarded it to my new address due to backup and a mix-up. It was sent back to the sender. I guess I'm the only one who lost in all of this. Out of $3,950.00 I was left with $1,066.00 after all of the fees the attorney charged me after helping get some of my money back from Chime. I thought they charge 33% for contingency fees and expenses. How does that equal up to $2,917.00 and I'm only left with $1,066.00? That's not right. What was the point in getting my money back from Chime if the money was going to still go to someone else other than me. They charged $250 to reissue a check that I have to wait up to 14 days to receive in the mail. Chime isn't the only one taking money. $1,066.00 left out of a settlement of $3,950.00..... This just doesn't add up to me. They got $2,917.00 out of a settlement of $3,950.00. I received 3 emails to sign a document, but every time I tried to sign the documents, it kept saying that I don't have access to the documents. I'm left feeling defeated

Dishonest

This guy agreed to take my case and sent a contract that stated he’d receive 1/3 of the money recovered. That’s fair enough, then it said he was able to get up to another third for fees such as postage, it was over a $5000 case. Given the situation I figured I’d ask what the other fees were and I did... it in a polite way so I could better understand. The next thing I got was a withdrawal. You can’t trust a man that doesn’t want you asking questions before you sign something. The fact of the matter is these cases are handled with a couple quick letters and phone calls, he’s making like 10k an hour. He isn’t out to protect or help any of the little people being screwed by credit card companies. I’m the victim of a fraud, luckily I was able to get a hold of the attorney general. If you’re the victim of a crime and can prove it there are federal laws stating that you’re protected from theft, and that there’s a certain burden of proof they have to achieve to show you weren’t. Don’t contact him, contact the state attorney general office first, chances are he’s getting paid for something you could do yourself. They’ll represent you for free and if they won’t, ask him a question if you don’t understand something and watch him drop the case. I’ve never seen anything like that before but it was one of the most incredibly shady things I’ve ever heard of, even if his pricing is fair expecting your clients not to ask questions is wrong.

Did nothing

He did Absolutely nothing to help my case he is not a good lawyer it should not mater how many of the same cases you have you stayed you help people there is no reason why I couldn't get the help because everything you said you help with was everything I mentioned and I was very detailed about it.

Tiana was never a client of my firm and I never accepted a case from her to work on. She is simply upset that her case was turned down by my firm.

Very unprofessional

I came across Mr. Thomas's website and read over the FAQ to learn more about their service. I had some questions that weren't answered but the site said they won't have a call with you (and would be happy to do so) unless they qualify you first, so I took the time to fill in the case evaluation. ...I received a scripted response soon after, saying they were referring me to someone else, but this new company asking me to agree to and proceed with their services looked the same as the first, and was still operated by the same person, Mr. Thomas. I replied to the email asking what was going on and if someone was going to contact me but I received no response. Having been scammed by businesses like the one I was reporting and even by legal practices (that were later shut down for malpractice), I wasn't going to sign some contract with some random company over the web entitling them to large fees (that weren't clearly explained) without having even spoke to a real person or received a message that wasn't automated or scripted, so I decided to hold off. For the next several days I received multiple automated "action required" emails from them, asking me to send my account information so they could proceed with the demand letter. I called the office, but it's just an automated voicemail and I did not receive a call back. I reply to their latest email telling them I tried contacting them and had some questions, and they responded shortly after with a scripted explanation of their process. Then I noticed they had sent another email literally a minute after saying that my case did not "meet their profile," without any explanation. Confused, I replied reminding them that they had already requested me to agree to their terms and submit personal information. I received no response. A few days later, I tried to follow up again via email and received a single sentence back saying "We decided not to accept your case." No explanation, no apology. Thanks for wasting my time. I recommend others find someone more professional and organized who actually cares and respects clients.

We require all new case submissions to be made online first. If a case meets our profile, we are then happy to schedule a call to discuss further. In this instance, the reviewer was simply upset that we decided not to take his case based on the facts he submitted.

I asked Client for proof of both impact and damages. When she could not sufficiantly provide these, I withdrew from her case. The client can still take part in a class action or file an individual small claims case.
