Disappointed

I had a dispute with chime and it was denied. It was for $2100.00. I tried everything. Bbb, attorney general, banking ombudsmen,FDIC, anything to do with unfair treatment by a bank I contacted them. Of course I got no where until I found Blake. He was very professional, he communicated well and alway...s answered me back. Not very personal but he doesn't need to be. He's slaying it. I was under the impression he would take 1/3rd of the settlement. Yes he provided the information in the contract I signed so I know its all on me but still I can be upset. I won the settlement but I didn't even get the amount I originally disputed and lost. I thought the entire process of going to litigation was to get your money back. Otherwise why in the heck would I do it y'all? Well It was the opposite of what I thought and what is the norm. I only got 1/3 of the settlement. Is this normal? I don't understand it. For this reason I want to give him a one star. I didn't want anything but my money back. I work hard for my money and for someone just to steal it. And now I take it to ligation and still I don't have my money back. If I would have at least got the $2100.00 that I originally disputed I would have given him 4 starts. If he would have only taken 1/3 like most lawyers do in this case he would have gotten 5 stars. So disappointing. I definitely feel like I was just an opportunity for him to make big money doing next to nothing. Taking advantage of uneducated people.

He Won My Case

He was able to get my funds back from chime after a hack that took place in April. The only thing i didn't like too much was the fees that's charged once a settlement is reached. in a sense you almost feel like you are taken advantage of again when you see the lawyers breakdown and what you are owed.... This experience was very different from previous lawyers ive dealt with, but it is what it is. My advice before hiring look around vs just rushing into a lawyer because with this one just know he's getting more in the end like a 70/30 split. if you are ok with that than its all good.

Settlement on Travelocity.com

I was a client of Alan Blake Thomas in a case on Travelocity.com. The lawyer did everything quickly so the case was settled in less then six months. I did not like the settlement amount. Fees and charges were more than 86% of the total amount. I think it is much too high. I received less than 14% of ...the settlement amount. It looks like a robbery, not like a settlement.

We had already filed suit and client chose to settle before the verdict for a small fraction of what the case was worth against my recommendation. His settlement was further reduced by the court filing fees which he had not paid.

My experience. What I learned. What to do in the future.

I needed help due to specific tactics from an unnamed company. I used search parameters to find this Lawyer. The lawyer accepted my case on contingency before we spoke on the phone. I rushed everything back to the Lawyer, so we could begin a case. I received only three updates during the case. Th...e day the demand was sent; the day suit was filed; the day a settlement was reached. I initiated contact with the lawyer several times, by phone and email throughout the process, to find out what was happening with the case. A settlement was reached, but it was extremely lower than I was told. As a result the damages offered were extremely lower than I was told. I was not happy, so I brought all of this to the Lawyer's attention and was told the Lawyer did not remember the amount and stated it must be a miscommunication. The Lawyer said that he wanted to make sure I was happy, which turned into negotiating. The lawyer went up a little but it was not close to what the Lawyer originally told me or enough for me to sign a non-disclosure. I gave the Lawyer a request with multiple options in writing to take back to the unnamed company. The Lawyer did not present my options to the unnamed company and gave me an ultimatum to either take the settlement or the Lawyer would withdraw from the case between the Lawyer myself and the unnamed company. As a final result the lawyer withdrew and quit the case. It was stated in the contract the Lawyer or I could quit at any point. I learned a lot from this experience. I will do more than an Internet search to find a Lawyer. I will do follow through with homework. I will carefully read and understand the agreement before I send anything back. I will make sure everything stated on the phone between myself and any Lawyer, is also sent in writing. I will get a second opinion, as should everyone who needs a lawyer. In the future, if I am ever in need of a Lawyer, I am confident, I will be able to find help from a Lawyer, who best fits my circumstances.

I filed suit for the client against a big company. I negotiated for the client a great settlement for several thousand dollars when his damages were less than one hundred dollars. The client agreed to the settlement amount, but later changed his mind after the big company had presented reasonable and standard settlement terms in the the release agreement.
