Child Custody

My ex decided to serve me with paperwork on a Friday at close of business to go back on a verbal agreement we had over custody of our three children. Me living out of town made it rather interesting and since I only had a couple days to get things together I did some quick research and found Gina Cos...tello and decided to hire her. I'm glad I did because we had to attend an emergency hearing by the following Wednesday and Gina came to the rescue. We have another hearing since that one and it turned out in my favor again. My ex and her lawyer are using every avenue to continue this case and Gina will be representing me yet again in October 2016.

DONT DO IT!!!!!

Worst experience ever. I recommend hiring yourself before Gina Costello. Went through a jurisdiction case with my daughters mother. Gina claims to be this massive threat to the apposing party, when it came down to it she wasn't clearly on my side. letting me know I had court 1 hour before I was suppo...sed to be there. No communication between her and her employees. Or to the client. Tells you what you wanna hear to get you on board then treats you as if the opposing party has 2 lawyers and your dead in the water. I have my faults don't get me wrong. But you hire a lawyer to defend you. Not get into court and talk you into agreeing to the opposing party. She flies off the handle in an instance, then turns around and acts like your best friend. Documents I still haven't seen but hear about all the time. The judge set in place orders for my daughters mother and I to agree on time and pick up location during the holidays. Soon as my back was turned she allowed my mother and her lawyer to decide those times then herself and the judge signed off on it. When confronted her response was "to be honest I didn't see that" haha really!? I wouldn't even recommend my daughters mother to use Gina Costello! If you sign on with her, be prepared to get things handed to you.

My opinion and experience

My experience with Ms. Costello was lukewarm, at best. She was very difficult to get on the telephone, and seldom would return your calls. She treated us very poorly at first, and even dropped our case. The day she let us know she was dropping us, was 2 weeks before a court hearing. Ms. Costello was ...abrasive, and difficult over the phone, yelling unsubstantiated reasons for dropping our case. She refused to listen to what I had to say, stating she was uncomfortable talking to me any longer. The whole experience was awful! She later (several days) rang me up, and after a very intense conversation (I was very upset), gave a lacking apology for poor communication, and not fully understanding what was going on. At that time she asked us to reconsider her quitting, and put her back on the case. We reluctantly did, mostly due to financial reasons. I never really trusted Ms. Costello after that. She did improve on communication, and she did see the case through. The emotional and financial cost was weighty. It was a TERRIBLE experience, and I'm certainly glad that I no longer have a need for Ms. Costello's services. My opinion is, look elsewhere.

Don't trust

After only 3 weeks and 3,500 later she walked off of my case saying that we had used all of our 3,500 and she did not owe us anything. She did not file the correct paper for the court date we had three days later. She was very unprofessional in the court room and actually used the words POO-POO in ...a document she wanted me to sign and submit to the courts.
