Back in May 2011 I was served divorce papers on my son's birthday when I came home from work to see him and completely blindsided by the situation, about 2-3 weeks went by why I tried to "Save my Marriage" but it just wasnt possible, so that's when I took action in the interest of my myself and my ch...ildren most importantly, so I looked and called in the yellow pages asking everyone I knew who might have dealt w/ this before and or knew someone who did, and I had recieved a couple referrals to contact Ben's Office. That I did, he saw me the next availabe day that I was off work and was able to sit me down hear my story and listen to the facts as well, he had a High Degree of knowledge on my particular situation and ensured me he would help me in fighting for the custody of my children and also my personal belonging's... As we have all heard the horror stories of divorce so of course I was scared out of my mind as I have worked so hard my whole life and was not about to lose what I have because things just didn't work. He was also a friend to me on a personal level as he is a "Man of God" and knew deep down inside I didn't want this to go through so at times him and his Wife Nia would talk to me about things to try and believe in if I wanted to save my marriage, I tried those things and of course that was when I realized I had to keep my guard up because my Ex wife had her mind made up and Grass was greener on the other side, although in the end she realized she was stuck in the desert... Long story short, Benjamin D. Platt did a outstanding job on my case and was able to go above and beyond and fight for what I deserved and in the end I have joint custody of my 2 precious boys and didn't go bankrupt in the process, he was very understanding of the financial toll it was taking on me and assured me that he would help me out and keep working for me even when at times money got low and or ran out, but I kept doing what I could and he never skipped a beat on my case.

This silver tongue warrior can sway a judge's decision in an instant by getting to the point without all the hogwash most lawyer's spew in an attempt to hide the truth and convolute the facts. My case was a 2+ year utter hellish experience but Ben and Nia we're patient with me and when my gargoyle ex arose much like the Kraken threatening to destroy my Utopia, Ben came riding in on his Pegasus of justice and instead of brandishing the head of Madusa, he wielded his vast knowledge of Washington state law and crushed my ex. Are you pumped right about now?? Hire this guy if your case is anything like mine. He's worth his weight in gold....

I have worked with plenty of lawyers for plenty of different issues. Even a different lawyer for the family law case that Ben ended up handling for me. Out of all of the lawyers I have worked with in the past and seen work Ben is by far the best and the only one that I would recommend to others. ...Ben has handled two different cases for me. My divorce and also my custody case for my oldest son. He outdid himself in both. I think our record is 9-0. I could not have asked or hoped for better results. Ben was even there and empathized when I would get worried or freak out about things. Him and Nia did a great job preparing everything, always getting back to me, and always having answers when I needed them. To top it off he was one of the lowest priced lawyers I had found at the time so everything worked out great. Seeing how Ben handles himself and his clients has also inspired me to go back to school for my law degree. I have him to thank for that as well. Thank you Ben and Nia for a job well done!!!

Look i've met some shady lawyers in my day but Ben is not one not one of them. Ben & Nia make a good team. You may not get ahold of them immediately but one of them will call you back by the end of the business day. I'm in a vicious fight with my wench-ex over my kids and the trial is far from over B...UT Ben & Nia have been there every step of the way to help me get thru this excrutiating & painful time. For the people above whining about Ben not calling you back, do you realize he has about 35 million other clients? Everyone seems to think their case is more important than anyone elses and this simply isn't true. The hardest thing about this entire process is learning patience. I am FAR from patient but it's a virtue and things will see them themselves thru in the end and with Ben & Nia's help.

completely agree with the review that stated, "He wouldn't keep me informed at all. Always unavailable." Everything in that review is absolutely, 100% true. However, I do believe some of the problem happens to be his "assistant" Nia Chasse. She happens to be one of the most incompetent people I h...ave ever met. Also, Ben is running a want-to-be lawyer office, in my opinion; if you pay attention, everyone in his office has the last name Platt. I hired Ben to handle a divorce for me and ended up, after nearly eight months of them attempting to serve my ex-husband, flying into Spokane from across the country to serve my ex-husband myself. I thought that is what I hired an attorney for? Also, I would leave persistent emails and voicemails requesting callbacks and information with no reply. Then I would receive my invoice and be charged for his assistant/receptionist reading them! I hired an attorney for legal advice, not to constantly get advice from his high school girl receptionist; although, I am not sure if Ben could provide legal advice himself. When I went into the office after months of trying to get a hold of them, I was standing in the office with Ben and Nia. I proceeded to ask Ben a question about my case and Nia started arguing with him about his answer. They couldn't agree on the answer. It was a simple legal question regarding defaulting in a divorce case. In the early stages of the process, once I figured out what a joke of an office they were, I asked about "firing" them and what my refund would be. They had stated that my funds I had given them were pretty much used up and the case was almost completed. It lasted nine more months. This experience was exhausting. Also, the last reviewer stated, "After I finally got through to him stating that I was very unhappy with him, he filed paper with the court dumping me as a client," I can completely relate to this person. I sent probably six emails asking the same question with no response, so when I finally sent another one expressing my dissatisfaction he replied saying I was disrespecting his staff and he would no longer have any correspondence with me. I simply had stated in my email that I felt as if it was unprofessional to not receive a reply from his assistant. This was not disrespect; it was simply an excuse Ben is using to not provide customer satisfaction. This is what his firm is all about; excuses. This place is a joke, they might not charge as much as other divorce lawyers, but I would go back and pay thousands more to someone else who actually values their clients and does not have to ask their receptionist legal questions. Good luck if you choose to hire Ben as your legal representation, you will need it.
