Jon J McMullen

I hired Mr. Jon Mcmullen approximately 6 months ago to defend me regarding a 4th degree assault charge that came during a time that I was in a custody battle for my youngest child. Although the charge seemed to be minimal, due to my profession as well as my custody case, it was and could be detrimen...tal to both. Mr. Mcmullen impressed me from the very first contact, with his professionalism and straight to the point approach. Specifically, I was referred to him by another attorney and he immediately, based on the referral, understood the importance of my charge and scheduled an appointment to address my needs. When I met with him for the first time, he told me what I needed to hear and not what I wanted to hear. Again, specifically, stated that his fee, due to travel and the location of the charge was going to be twice as high then if I would have went with an attorney in the area, and he offered to refer me to one. Not a great opener, but it was explained to me so that I could determine what fit my needs, not his. During our consultation, he explained the process in great depth. It went exactly as he stated. I knew immediately that I was going to hire Jon. Being around as many professional individuals and attorneys as I have, you knew there was something about him that was very unique. His passion for what he does, and his personal aura are unique to find in an individual, especially an attorney, and once he entered the courtroom and began to defend me, you knew by the way he spoke and talked to the prosecutor and judge you had the right person that you wanted speaking on your behalf. His style is not what you expect. He did not have all the fancy phones, computers and technology, I did not get his cell phone and get told to call him, he had an assistant that he expected to gather the information (and a very good one I might add), and you were assured that Jon got your information and that he would get things handled. And he did! During my case, we came to a fork in the road. Which was to except an offer from the prosecutor or go to trial. After meeting with Jon and looking at the pros and cons, the decision was made to accept the offer. We signed the offer and at that point the case would have been closed and Jon could have collected his fees and moved on. We sat in the courtroom to wait to hear our name get called. Before it did, Jon asked me a question or two and then said, "We don't need to make a decision today." and we didn't take the offer, and he went back to work. 3 or 4 more trips up and down the road, more time with the prosecuting attorney, more tasks for me to do all for the same cost. But he didn't give up. Two months later, with the facts in hand the case was dropped. My career and custody battle staying on track and clearing my name to all. Mr. Mcmullen not only is my defense attorney, for me and my family from this point forrward, I consider him a friend. I oversee a company with 100's of employees and would recommend him to all who would need his services. I promise you from the first time you meet him and shake his hand, you will know what I did the first time I met Jon.
