Julie Anne Oberbillig

I quit my job of almost 2 years because of illegal activity. I was denied unemployment. My appeal hearing for “just cause quit” took 4 months to finally get and throughout those months, Julie and I kept contact. She was always accessible via text, phone and email. She took a LOT of time to talk t...o me on many occasions and I feel she went way over and above what she was compensated for. She met with me before my hearing and not only did she make me feel prepared (and help prepare me!) she put me at ease. When it came to the hearing, it was a long one. I know 100% if I had not hired her I would not have won. She knew exactly what questions to ask and what to object to. There were a lot of variables to navigate and she made the complicated mess of my employment simple. She helped me prove my employer had broken at least one law and that I’d complained about it. I will be forever grateful to Julie and feel lucky to have found her. The only advice I have to anyone reading this is to maybe call her BEFORE you quit! Also, always appeal if you are denied (with Julie’s help!!). Thank you, Julie!!!!!!

Ms. Oberbillig represented me as the claimant on an unemployment appeal and a subsequent petition for review from the commissioner's office. Ms. Oberbillig was thorough and conscientious. She was steadfast in her belief in my case and supported me throughout the process. She was easy to reach via ema...il and responded quickly to my inquiries. Ms. Oberbillig is experienced in the appeals process and has an extensive knowledge of unemployment law. I felt extremely confident in her abilities. We did prevail on my case at the commissioners level after a reversal of benefits at the first level of appeals. Had we not prevailed I would still have written a glowing review of Ms. Oberbillig. I am very impressed with Julie. She not only took my case when my previous attorney dropped the ball on me because he got suspended (none related to my case). She quickly got on top of what I had and was very proactive gathering what I was still needing to make my case. She made a super good argume...nt to the judge with all what she knew about my case. She is very proactive, very organized and so on top of things....I highly recommend her.

Julie is knowledgeable, assertive, and experienced. Within hours of hiring her, she took the iniative to dive in to my issue and start the leg work. And she continued the same level of assertiveness throughout my case. When I had questions she was there. When I wondered if I had a chance at p...revailing she gave me sound, reasonable advice. When I was at a loss she expertly filled the gaps and trudged forward with her well thought out plan. Julie was unafraid to deal with my employer who acted as if they were untouchable. This employer is a huge part of the State government and yet she stepped right up to the red tape and cut through it with great skill and expertise. Hopefully I will not need another employment law attorney but if I do, I'm going to definitely call Julie!

Julie was amazing during my case, even helped me with the possibility of another case by aiding in finding another lawyer (since she isn't able to handle the 2nd case). First, when I initially called her voicemail it stated that she was out of town and wouldn't be back until after my hearing date- ...if an emergency to call her cell. I decided to leave a message and hope she got it instead of calling her cell. At the time, I didn't know her and I didn't exactly thought it was an emergency. Julie called me a few hours later, she immediately jumped on my case which was greatly appreciated and a little shocking considering what you hear about some lawyers. Julie certainly took her time with me, she knew I was nervous about my hearing and made sure she went over everything with me. Julie even went over questions with me so I felt comfortable on the phone. She went over the order that the hearing would go so I wouldn't be surprised by anything. Julie basically held my hand throughout the whole process, because she knew that is what I needed (since it was my first time). In the end all her hard work paid off and she won my case. I couldn't have done it without her!
