Flat Rate + Reviewed Sep Agreement + Consult => Exceeded Expectations
(1) Reviewing Separation Agreement—Mathew made the process exceptionally easy. He highlighted areas of the separation agreement that added value that I was unable to see. His consultation and guidance, which were included in the review's cost, were a massive lift of burden. In fact, with my skepticism during my scoping consult, he reminded me that all of what I was asking for would be in the flat rate. (2) Consultation—This is where Mathew shined. He simply spoke and let me know the status of how my employer approached separation. Matthew described my rights and the Washington Code very crisply and concisely. This reduced all of my vulnerabilities and worries. I can better sleep at night, knowing my entire case and the opportunities and consequences of each of the roots we potentially wanted to go down. Ultimately, Mathew and I agreed on the middle path, and I left the conversation feeling amazing. What makes Mathew different is that he says had some sage advice that stuck with me and I'll never forget. Unfortunately, to protect Matthew, I don't feel comfortable disclosing what advice that was, but it made the entire consult cost worth it, especially when comparing it to the cost of mental health burden and therapy sessions that would've come by not leveraging a lawyer like Matt. I will leverage him for future career hiring and firing moments. Hopefully, there will be more hiring than firing. Thanks, Matthew. Thanks for the laughs. But more importantly, for grounding my anxieties and making me much more intelligent. I will be better able to approach my next job. -Jarrod

Great experience, Severance review
Matthew was thorough, and prompt. Great experience. Reviewing all documents related to my severance package. Provided options (i.e. what further could be done to increase the package and the likelihood of the outcomes). Very detail oriented and made me comfortable with my next steps. Extremely knowledgeable with the latest updates for non-competes etc.. Very highly recommend!

Excellent advice and prompt communication!
Simply put: Matthew is incredible. He was tremendously helpful in negotiating my severance agreement with my previous employer, taking into account the rules and restrictions of my H-1B work visa (something not many employment lawyers are aware of) and making sure we were able to get the best possible terms in my case. He provided updates at every step of the process and made sure my value and specific situation was communicated to my employer in very simple, positive terms. I'm very happy with the results of the negotiated agreement and the extra severance I received was more than 2.5x his attorney fees—definitely recommend!

Professional and Empathetic
I was negotiating a severence package and, of course, emotions got in the way. Matthew helped guide me through the process leading to a good result for myself and the family. He kept everything understandable and made sure I knew about what NOT to do or say.

Agreeable, knowledgeable and helpful
During a very difficult time, Mr. Ennis encouraged me when I needed it, and was patient with me when I needed it. He listened to me when I had important input, which helped shape our approach on an employment matter with my former employer. His assistance took the pressure off of me, and he communicated and negotiated a fair settlement. If you believe that you've been wronged by an employer, my advice would be - don't hesitate to reach out to Mr. Ennis - I waited for a while after the employment issue started, and I believe would have been better off reaching out to, and retaining an attorney at the first sign of trouble (3 months before I contacted Mr. Ennis).

Non-Compete Issue
Mr, Ennis was very helpful with advice and dissecting an employment agreement which had illegal language, which led to an amicable settlement.

One of a Kind Attorney
Matthew Ennis is one of a kind. How often do you run into a skilled attorney who also happens to be a decent human being. Initially, Matthew created a fee agreement that took my run-down finances into account. Then, as we started working together – Matthew helped me with a complex severance agreement - he was patient in the extreme. And his legal advice was consistently spot on. Matthew is a sharp attorney and a compassionate psychologist rolled into one guy.
