Biography:
During high school Travis was focused on getting out of Montana and seeing the world. After the fall of communism and the collapse of the Soviet Bloc crushed his desire to serve on the Berlin Wall; Travis decided to join the Navy. “The Navy was, and still is in my opinion, the best place for a young person to discover their full potential.” said Travis. During his time in the Navy, he was given the opportunity to work with all of the wonderful staff of the legal department on his ship as a Master-at-Arms, and this nurtured his ambition to become an attorney. It was also during this time that he had the opportunity to work in the Puget Sound and fell in love with the region and its people.
During undergraduate and law school, he worked to support his family at various positions including UPS, the Boilermaker’s Union, several property management and construction firms and caring for the handicapped as a CNA. These experiences left him with a deep appreciation for what is required to make-ends-meet and the difficulties inherent in providing the best for your family during hard times.
Taking advantage of every opportunity to learn, Travis worked hard at his studies and earned high honors in his undergraduate courses, and in pursuit of a well-rounded legal education, completed many more credits of learning than were required to graduate from law school.
Travis is an honest and straightforward advocate for his clients and is unafraid to aggressively advance their interests. He understands that, “At the end of the day, I have to justify my time and actions, not only to my clients, but to myself and our society as well.” said Travis. He strives to always be responsive to his client’s questions and concerns and prides himself on being available for them on their time schedule. He acknowledges that not everyone works 9 to 5 schedules and for those that don’t, they deserve something more than a 9 to 5 attorney.
Travis has practiced exclusively in Family Law as an attorney and would not have it any other way. “The field of Family Law has offered me some of the most challenging, frustrating, but ultimately rewarding experiences of my life. I left the Navy to pursue a career that would allow me to engage with others and have a positive impact on their lives; our law offices gives me the opportunity to see this goal become a reality.” said Travis.

A Cut Above the Rest!
My Case was complex family law post adoption and a current third custody matter that was decided at the Superior Court in Kitsap County Washington April 2016. My previous attorney from Kitsap County withdrew from my case at the conclusion of the proceedings on the same day the court made its final ...
Our office always recommends prospective clients remain with their current counsel whenever possible. Mr. Mitchell's counsel did an excellent job, but unfortunately had to withdraw due to a judicial appointment. Our office came in afterwards to ensure a proper response to the request for reconsideration was timely made. Fortunately; the court denied the reconsideration sua sponte and our representation remained to provide cover for any future matters. Mr. Mitchell's kind words are much appreciated, but this matter was a fine example of a minimalist approach applied correctly to reach a favorable resolution with a positive cost/benefit. Best regards to Mr. Mitchell and all he has done for his grandchildren!

Mr. Groves did better than expected under extremely arduous circumstances.
I had primary custody of my 3 children for 8 years when I was hit with false accusations from my ex-wife in an attempt to stop paying child support. Her cruel an unyielding actions forced us into the worst custody battle for most of a year. My previous lawyer was not up to the challenge and withdrew ...
(I didn't charge anywhere near 40K. That distinction goes to the other attorney. Just FYI)

Custody/Relocation out of state.
Mr groves helped me defend against false allegations and change of custody of my children. He then helped me during trial to relocate myself and my children out of the state. He was honest and upfront about all possible outcomes, always answered my questions. And accommodate my schedule as much as po...
The best lesson I ever learned in Law School was when to sit down and shut-up. This client wore the "white hat" well and did everything responsibly and without any spite or unnecessary conflict. Unfortunately; the opposing party didn't and his conduct did more to prove our case than anything I could have done. Credit must be given to the client for her patience and understanding to allow the system to work and see in the end the truth outs!

Took my case on short notice
I had to find a lawyer fast to help me after mediation did not end well. There were other complications with my case as well. I called a few different lawyer offices most of which said they could not help me since my trial date was so close. Travis was the ONLY one to pick up and talk with me pers...
This matter was a prime example of the "peace dividend" that can result from parties working together for the best interest of their child. As with many matters; the future will tell, but through their efforts there is the ability for them to co-parent in the future. I wish them the best of luck!

Protection order
Travis and his office was hired to help me with a VAPO, vulnerable adult protection order, that my ex husband brought upon me on our adult daughter who was in his control. My ex was able to get a therapist to write some very bad things about me to the Court. So disturbing that they would bring ...
