She is is a perfect blend of professional and personable when she represented me in 2017-2018. She was the public defender to have, she really fights for her clients. I knew she was genuinely invested in making sure we got the best result. She has away of commanding attention in the courtroom which... gave me a lot of confidence in her. The charges she represented me on were firearm and distribution, I also had a criminal history before hand. I have had my run ins with public defenders. I never met one I trusted until I met Sam, she's honest, engaging, reliable, the type to under promise and over perform. She did so much for me that no other attorney ever had. I had fired the attorney before her because they wouldn't file certain motions. Sam filed those motions and so much more. She was there for me in times of crisis, always honest, got back to me ASAP, and in the end she ultimately got me the best result that could come from my particular case. There was no disputing most the evidence against me and so knowing that I declined going to trail but don't get it twisted she was war ready but I was gonna be found guilty of one firearm charge no matter what and my range was 87-116 months for the firearm. I was looking at 116 months the state recommendation but because of this amazing, hardworking, dedicated professional women I got just 67 months. Its my personal belief that no other attorney in the world could have saved me that 49 months of my life But Samantha Sommerman did. I will be forever greatful for her.
