Creative and Dedicated

Ms. Michelson was creative and dedicated in helping me in my divorce. Our divorce was unique because of several factors. She gave me sound advice and was direct in tell me what would help or hurt my case. It was a long process with several ups and downs, but she always listened and answered my ques...tions immediately.

Attorney Review

Liz and her team were knowledgeable about all aspects of the process and were able to convey them to me in an understandable manner. I also felt that they were very conscientious about spending my time and money and counseled me on the appropriate level of expectations. They were also very supporti...ng of my situations and frustrations while dealing with the apparent efforts of the opposing council efforts to disrupt the process. For anyone having to deal with an already difficult situation made worse by a non-collaborative behavior from others, I would highly recommend Elizabeth Michelson and her team.

The best in Snohomish County

This review is long overdue. Liz has been my attorney for 8 years and I have used her on multiple cases (dissolution with children and a super crazy Ex). I came to her after having fired two other attorneys who were not able to get my divorce finalized after 2 years. I begged her to take my case and ...get it to the finish line. Opposing counsels' strategy was to drag the proceedings out to extend the maintenance period. Liz got it done for me, and quickly. She's is a bit like a doctor; she presents the potential outcome as bleak, so when the actual outcome occurs you’re pleasantly surprised. She’s not a True Believer – the "you've been hurt; let's crush them" type; she’s more factual and pragmatic, which is a refreshing antidote to the whirlwind of a dissolution. I've informal mediation, formal mediation, and open court with her and she is equally adept in all settings. A paralegal is a critical player on every attorney's team. Liz has had two paralegals in the time I've been with her and they've both been outstanding. She hires smart, and that’s good for you because they're the one doing a lot of the paperwork, and it keeps your billing down. Liz wins (to the extent anyone wins in a divorce). I have referred 3 other clients to her and they all came out well. She is the finest family lawyer in the County.

Competence, Experience, Drive, and Results

I conducted much research prior to retaining Liz Michelson. I developed a list of the county’s most respected attorneys. Ms. Michelson’s schedule availability put my consultation with her at the very last. Interestingly, two of the attorney’s that I met with had the integrity to note that they cou...ld handle my case, but due to complexity, my case would be best served by Ms. Michelson. I met with Ms. Michelson and I immediately liked her style. She is high-integrity, direct, no-nonsense, intense, and clearly extremely intelligent and mentally nimble. As preparation for trial progressed I gained additional confidence in Ms. Michelson’s representation. She continuously demonstrates an ability to focus on the important and weed out the chaff. Her diligence, strategy, planning, and execution are backed up by extremely competent and kind staff. At trial Ms. Michelson had a command of the space that was unmatched. There were multiple events where Opposing Counsel literally had to stop and take a four-minute “breathe through” to attempt to regain bearings. This was because Ms. Michelson is strategic and simultaneously brought superior knowledge of my case and the law. After the trial I decided to go through my file which was voluminous and well organized. This is where I could see the results producing inner workings. I am not going to describe everything that she did there because I liken it to a trade secret, but suffice it to say that I was duly impressed above and beyond what I had already witnessed. My case definitely benefitted from Ms. Michelson’s representation and I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

An exceptional attorney!

Liz is an excellent attorney. Her skills as both a writer and orator in the courtroom are exceedingly above that of all other attorneys. It’s rare to find an attorney with exceptional skills as both a writer and orator. I have been extremely pleased by her representation of me. She knows the law ...and her length of experience brings with it an understanding of the court system. Rather than feeling like a file on the desk, Liz makes me feel like a person going through a life changing event. She is caring and supportive, and is not afraid to fight for what is right. I have recommended Liz to others and will continue to do so.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
