During his more than forty years practicing as a traditional labor and employment lawyer, Tim has handled all types of employment matters for large national corporations as well as small businesses here in Seattle. His work representing those employers has included wage and hour issues, occupational safety and health matters, arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, employment discrimination issues, and traditional labor matters arising under the National Labor Relations Act. Tim has litigated numerous labor and employment cases before federal and state agencies and in federal and state courts.
Tim has considerable experience serving in a proactive role for employers in order to help them avoid formal confrontations and lawsuits with their employees before they get started. His work in this area has included drafting employee handbooks, auditing and amending employer practices pertaining to employees and providing guidance and group instruction to management representatives in the boardroom as well as first line managers dealing with employees on a daily basis.
Tim also represents employees on a selective basis and has considerable experience in handling and litigating personal injury matters for individuals and their families. He is also very experienced in general commercial litigation in state courts in Washington and in federal courts around the nation.
Tim was a trial attorney with the Office of the Solicitor, U.S. Department of Labor and with the National Labor Relations Board. In addition to his work in the public sector, he has been an in-house attorney with two major U.S. corporations in New York and Seattle and two major law firms in Seattle. Tim is a graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law (J.D.) and holds a Master's Degree in Labor Law (LL.M) from New York University. He is licensed to practice law in Washington, Illinois and Indiana.
In his spare time, Tim is an avid golfer. He and his wife live in Pierce County. They have two sons, both of whom graduated from Washington State University and two beautiful, sweet toddler grand daughters.
