I am experienced in a variety of practice areas, including Consumer Protection, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure Prevention, Debt Collection Defense and other general litigation. I am passionate about all litigation especially consumer protection cases. A major area of focus for me is student loan debt. I am continually advocating for solutions to the private student loan debt crisis and I have had an op-ed published in the Seattle Times advocating for greater consumer protections. I also have experience in class actions. In 2014 I filed a major class action against one of the state’s largest debt collectors, AllianceOne Receivables Management. The case, Dibb, et al. v. AllianceOne Receivables Management, resulted in nearly a million dollars being paid to Washington individuals and families who were illegally collected against.
I also spend a significant amount of time volunteering. I volunteer at both the King County Bar Associations Neighborhood Legal Clinics and the Northwest Justice Project’s free debt clinic. I have lobbied Washington State’s Congress on issues such as wage theft, increasing the minimum wage, and protecting worker compensation.

Thorough, compassionate, responsive.
Sam was an invaluable resource in helping me navigate a very awkward property dispute. He provided excellent legal advice and really went above and beyond to be available by phone and email. It’s clear Sam really cares about his clients and it’s my pleasure to recommend him.
"I consulted with Sam regarding a difficult and complicated case at a crucial point. When I explained the case, Sam got it the first time and started identifying solutions. He brought sharp analytical skills and perseverance in each phase of the case. He obtained an excellent result and kept his wry sense of humor at all times. -Jim"
