Washed Up Has Been, "Pathetic"

John Henry Browne was the biggest blunder in my federal case. He was so unprepared for trial that the prosecution labeled him "pathetic." The judge also later described his representation as poor and inadequate. Anyone facing criminal charges for the first time might feel overwhelmed and fall into th...e trap of hiring someone with an inflated or manipulated reputation. The only times I met John were during the initial consultation and to pay him trial fees. The suppression hearing was handled by an incompetent attorney (C.S.) who was nearly ejected from the courtroom by the screaming judge. He fired the only attorney handling my case just days before trial, with whom he had a falling out in another courtroom, later becoming the town's gossip. It's clear now that JHB ensured I didn't have a defense and wouldn't have the opportunity to make a record. JHB did not meet with me after I was convicted and locked away. He told me it was a better place to argue my case on appeal rather than the district court, and besides, he was going on vacation. The judge had few words on record regarding his vacation priority. There were instances of slurred speech and clown-like behavior that made us wonder if he was on drugs or perhaps heavily medicated due to some condition. Turns out he's a known junkie! The case was later handled by a few more inexperienced attorneys, another one (C.V.) to be yelled at and nearly thrown out of the courtroom by Judge Robart, whose behavior raised concerns about his mental stability, to say the least. Unfortunately, it isn't easy to find court filings and transcripts where the public could gain better insight into JHB. Sadly, these real reviews might not do much, as he's enjoyed himself for far too long at the expense of desperate people. I hope no one has to deal with him because your future options may have to be creative and well-motivated. It's best to avoid JHB altogether; nothing good can come of him.

Peeping John

If I would have known JHB had a cocaine problem I would not have retained him as my attorney. If I would have known JHB defended a guy that tried to kill me with a gun that left me in the hospital with bleeding to the brain, I would not have hired JHB as my attorney. If I would have known about “reas...onable doubt” I would have never let JHB pressure me to accept Bench trial when I demanded Jury trial.

He stole our money

I hired JHB after I meet with him and he told me he could get me out of jail by x-mas, two months later I was still in jail and all he could say is be patient. He gave my case to another lawer at the JHB law group who got my case and history mixed up. JHB said my name was a common name for white me...n and mix up's happen. The funny part is I am black. They began to tell me to tell on people... They told me this atleast 15 times. I said no and JHB and his other lawyer said in 30 yrs they have never seen or heard of any snitches getting hurt for telling. I asked do you really even stay in contact with clients? After the 15th time of being told to tell I decided JHB law group was not the firm for me because not only did they try to make me tell but for two months they had my money and didn't do any work on my case because they said they didn't have my files yet and the procecutor was slow dragging so we were at a standstill. When I asked well what have you done, JHB said we already earned our money by just taking the case. JHB has won cases but he has loses too. I feel he has lost sight of what being a lawyer really is. They are not paid for their names they are paid to do a job. No work no pay. Not only did he not do anything for me but he kept more than half my money he said that he didn't even need. I am waiting to hear from the bar now about this. I did research and found out he has done this very same thing before and has cases against him for taking peoples money and doing nothing for them. If I was you I did find another letter.

Great law Firm

JHB worked my case with Colleen Hartl. I agree with Thomas' review. This is the only firm you should think about representing you should you be charged with a crime. They embarrassed the King County Sherriff and the King County prosecutors office . They out investigated, had a better understanding of... the facts and where light years ahead in their understanding of the law on top of all that they are really nice people. When I called the JHB office it was the most important call of my life and John and his firm never let me down once. Best lawyers on earth , hire them and let them do what they know how to do. Steve

only cares about the press coverage he can bring to a case

hired john henry brown years ago. he had little federal experience though told me that he would negotiate a good deal. both times in court he rail roaded me and called the press himself just for the coverage. poor excuse for a lawyer.
