In a nutshell, I wish someone had given me Ed’s reference before I signed by divorce settlement. I did meet Ed on a particular follow-up issue around the maintenance amount I had agreed to pay my Ex, without her declaring to me some additional income sources during mediation. Ed gave me a quic...k breakdown of costs & maximum possible gains from litigation. Where he won me over was by being sympathetic but also being candid in basically advising me to save my money & not challenge a white Seattle single mom (my ex). Based on how late I had come to know of her extra income, and how no Seattle jury was going to ask her to return any maintenance money to me. Maybe a token something that would not cover a fraction of money spent in courts. His advice was a balance between merit of my case, and importantly the reality of how such decisions swing in Seattle courts. He could have easily said yes & drawn me into costly litigation. He is willing to negotiate with the opposing party, he is fierce at defending his client and aggressive when needed to g...et the best results possible.
