Horrible!

I contacted Rodney to discuss possibly retaining his firm for my girlfriend who's in a very difficult custody battle with her son's father. After further discussion about her case I asked about cost of retaining his services, he explained it could at least a 4500 dollar retainer and could go up from ...there depending on the complexity of her case. I then asked if he would be open to some type of deferred payment or payment plan because her finances have been up and down. I was met with a stern "no!" followed by "You will never find an attorney to take a case with no retainer a with at least a 5000 dollar held in escort to be drawn from." We've been down this road and clearly understand how retainers work. I said to him that we would call if she/we were able to come up with a retainer but again finances are tight so more than likely not and I thanked him for taking time to talk to me. I was then met with laughter followed by the rudest statement imaginable "good luck" this combined with his laughter was clearly meant as an insult due to our inability to come up with a retainer. I have never been so insulted by another professional in my life if this is what you get or will expect to get from this firm I can not imagine how anyone can even begin to consider Pierce law as adequate council. Pay to play is what these guys are about and I understand that everyone needs to and deserve to be paid for work done. However someone ridiculing you for not having the means to properly protect your rights in court is flat out wrong. And by the way every other firm we have spoken with has been completely helpful with referrals and words of encouragement.

My daughter, my life!

I was in a very UGLY across two states custody battle with my ex-husband. I am the bread winner and all of my time, money and energy has been focused on being able to see my daughter. Rod was the only attorney to tell me not to give-up and he set in motion a plan of attack to help me get my daughter ...back! Thank you Rod. You are kind, and knowledgeable I understand why your nick name is the Pit-bull! You are the Best! - Grace

Exceptional Attorney

I endorse this lawyer. I have known Rod Pierce for many years and our firm refers all family law clients to his office who request or need a referral. We do this because without exception Rod delivers the highest quality services through time tested expertise and without question achieves the very be...st results for his clients and our referrals. His extensive courtroom and litigation experience as well as his seasoned judgment are crucial when issues affecting the rest of a client’s life are at issue. When thorough attention to custody issues makes the difference in the Court’s decision or when division of assets is highly contested, or the myriad other issues that surface in family law proceedings occur, having Rod Pierce as your skilled and accomplished advocate makes the difference. Rod has my highest recommendation.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I have known Rod Pierce for twenty years. Initially we were opposing lawyers in divorce cases. I soon realized Rod is a thorough, hard working talented lawyer. Although he is a fearless tough opponent, he is professionally courteous while providing top notch representation to his client. Through mutual respect and passion for fastpitch softball we became friends. My practice changed to personal injury, and Rod and I have worked a significant personal injury case together. My high regard for his legal ability and professionalism has increased from working together with him.I continue to refer cases to Rod and I look forward to working with him again in the future. Rod Pierce is a quality person and a great lawyer."

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
