Outstanding Attorney

Todd saved my career and the whole course of my life. I was faced with a situation where someone accused me of doing something that never happened. Unfortunately, the allegation was taken seriously by a powerful institution and I had to fight my way to justice. That was only possible with Todd's help.... He made all of the right moves along the way. Highly recommended.

Client Review

On Thursday December 11, 2008, I received a criminal complaint against me. According to the court papers, the charge was a criminal offense; the alleged violation was an assault. I was shocked and strongly believed that there must be an error due to the fact I did not recall “knowingly” committ...ing an offense against any being, let alone a human being. Initially, I did not know what to do. The second day I called a friend who is a attorney, his practice focuses on civil litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on general commercial litigation, i.e. he was not a criminal defense attorney. After reading the court complaint letter, my friend’s reaction was similar to mine. He said this is very bizarre; situation and proceeded to call the City prosecutor to find out what the complaint was really about. He did his best with no success. With a court date set for December 23rd that I was not able to attend, my friend was kind enough to represent me and request discovery materials, so hopefully we could understand what was going on. Knowing the complaint was absolutely false; I took it very seriously and started the search for a knowledgeable top-notch criminal defense attorney. I received Todd’s name as a recommendation and contacted him. He quickly returned my phone call. We sat together the second day after my call and Todd began efforts on my behalf. The day I met Todd, he told me, the accuser may bring two more individuals to the hearing and clearly explained what we were going to do. I told Todd I was looking for an excellent attorney. I was upset and disappointed at the possibility I may be found guilty of something I did not do. I was in great distress at having the burden on me to prove my innocence. What appeared to be a minor case in my opinion, I understood, could have major consequences on my life if the matter was not properly handled. My accuser managed to find two “professional” witnesses, i.e. two liars like him, to support his absolute false claim. Todd, through professionalism, excellent investigation and due diligence in gathering information perfected the case for a win on my behalf during cross examination. Needless to say, I was highly impressed with Todd’s performance. He did a great job. The judge was disgusted with the prosecutor’s office because of the way Todd demonstrated excellence in presenting the matters. Todd took time to understand every aspect of my case and used his knowledge and experience to my advantage. Todd is an attorney with integrity that can be trusted and relied on. He is an attorney who is thoughtful, thorough, and knowledgeable. Todd is a staunch advocate for his client. I would recommend Todd for anyone who had a criminal case. Todd is very easy to work and talk with. He instills a real sense of confidence in his client that everything will be ok. He has ethics which is shown through his demeanor and work. He is an attorney who combines expertise with compassion in a professional manner. He made me feel that I was more than just his client- he made me feel as someone he genuinely cared about. I highly recommend Todd Maybrown. His dedication to clients along with his knowledge of the law is unparalleled. I have the highest regard for him as an attorney as well as give him my highest and unequivocal endorsement. I was proud to have Todd represent me as my attorney and very pleased with the outcome of my case. Todd’s excellent legal skills, tireless efforts and unwavering belief in my innocence are what made the difference in my case. In conclusion, it was a relief to know Todd was on my side and I was in very good, trustworthy and capable hands which is why I endorse Todd Maybrown and his law firm without hesitation. I can candidly like Todd Maybrown is an asset and does honor to the legal profession

Todd came through for me at the worst time of my life

I was falsely accused of very serious charges by an ex-girlfriend. The local prosecutor believed her story and pursued those charges all the way to the bitter end of a jury trial. It was the worst time of my life. I can't even express what that process did to me. The lies, the accusations, and be...ing caught up in our torturous legal system all took such a huge toll on my sense of who I am. But, Todd was there for me. I mean he was truly there for me. He dug into every possible area of evidence. He painstakingly persuaded the court to allow each piece of that evidence. He presented every bit of that evidence in the best possible way to the jury. Todd also has a tremendous way of interacting with people, both in and out of court. He was able to get exactly what we needed out of every interview. And, he was able to gain the trust of the jury. Todd is so absolutely strong, kind, determined, wise, and sincere that the jury and the court participants all responded in the best possible way. Honestly, I could not have had anyone better in my corner. I am so grateful to him. He was there for me through the entire process, making sure that I understood everything that was happening, always being honest and forthright with me, considering every detail of every thought I had about the case, and truly having my back, in every sense, when I needed it most. The jury came back with not guilty after only 45 minutes of deliberation because Todd had done what it took, before and during the trial, to show the truth in a way that everyone in the jury could understand, despite their own preconceptions and personal life experiences. I've tried really hard to show you what Todd's help meant to me. But, I'm not sure it's possible for me to accurately express it. Basically, my life is very different because of Todd. My daughter is still in my life today just as much as she was before. And, she still loves me and believes in me just as she did before. I can't tell you what that means to me and I can't tell you how grateful I am to Todd for making that happen. Todd's a great man. I was truly lucky to have him on my side.

An honorable, effective, and compassionate attorney

I am not prone to testimonials, but in the instance of Todd Maybrown—I gladly come to the fore. I well know what it feels like to be immersed in very challenging circumstances, need legal counsel, and yet have little in the way of direction. Factors like trust, integrity, competence, and humanity are... difficult to truly discern at best, but are incredibly hard in situations of stress and time pressure. I can tell you from lived experience that Todd is not only a strikingly effective and competent attorney, he is also a deeply honorable and compassionate man. Todd served as my attorney for four long years navigating a slow, tortured legal process. Sometimes being an effective attorney means bringing hard realities to the table. These can feel more than a little unwelcome on the client side of the table. What you need is a legal guide within whom you can place absolute trust—not only to honestly present the hard realities, but to help successfully make your way through the process, and maintain as much balance and healthy perspective as possible. Todd’s long experience, intelligence, and keen appreciation of how the legal system works combine with his extensive professional network. At every turn in the road, Todd was completely on top of the details and thoughtful about bringing in specific expertise as needed. Through multiple years in a case with complex layers, there were dark days for my family and myself. But, I cannot overstate the value of having this enlightened legal counsel “on our side.” I give my very highest recommendations for Todd Maybrown.

"Todd is an amazing attorney, and I would recommend him to anyone facing serious criminal charges. I had the pleasure of learning from him during a Trial Advocacy program he taught at the University of Washington Law School. I also got to see him cross-examine a snitch in a very complex murder trial in federal court. He did such a great job that the jury later said they didn't believe a word the snitch said, and they were disgusted with the federal prosecutor for basing its case in part on someone so untrustworthy. Needless to say, I was highly impressed."
