Lisa’s reviews stood out to me because the people leaving the reviews were above and beyond pleased with not only Lisa’s Legal skills but also the great person she was. I decided based on these great AVVO reviews to give Lisa a call. I needed ...an attorney to represent me in a matter against a former employer. I emailed Lisa with some details of my situation. Shortly thereafter I received a phone call from Lisa. She was warm and very professional. It became clear immediately that I was talking to a person with excellent intelligence. She quickly grasped my complex situation and asked the exactly right questions to clarify her understanding of my complex situation. She spoke with me at no charge for almost an hour. Then I emailed Lisa all my documents for her review. Lisa did not charge me anything for this review. A few days later Lisa finished her review of my documentation and scheduled a phone call. On that Phone call I received good and bad news. Lisa told me that after her extensive review of my documents she believed I had an excellent case and she wanted to pursue it. Unfortunately her and the firm discovered there was a conflict of interest that exists so even though they wanted to represent they could not because of this existing condition. I fully understand their position, as every organization has to screen for potential conflicts of interest before they can enter into a contract with a new client. Lisa then kindly informed me of her viewpoints of my case and gave me some advice. By this time Lisa must have spent at least 10 hours on reviewing my case. Still after all this time reviewing and then nearly 2 hours of phone calls Lisa never asked me to pay anything. This is so generous and especially appreciated when you are un-employed. Now if Lisa had just said goodbye at this point I would have been beyond pleased with my experience with her. But what she did next was un-believable. She gave me the names of two other excellent firms - those that only professionals in an industry would know of. She said to contact these two firms and I could let them know that Lisa referred me. Then Lisa informed me that many times attorneys turn down cases not because they don’t think the case is valid nor because they do not want to represent the client, she said that attorneys many times turn down a case because they do not have the time in their schedule to take on another case. Lisa told me that if this is the case with these two firms she recommends then contacting her and she will provide me with other good firms to contact. Wow! Finally if you find yourself in my situation needing an attorney to represent you in an employment matter, you will notice that your self-esteem is pretty far down from its all time highs. At all times Lisa treated me with respect, made me feel valued and even thanked me for doing what she felt was the right thing that I did in my employment situation.
