We hired Harkiran's team to do estate documents. While the consultation with her was fine, we found it difficult to contact the firm -- messages left by phone and emails were not answered promptly (albeit answered in a few business days) because when we were notified of a need to reschedule the d...ate of signing of documents, we were in the middle of multiple medical sessions week after week, sometimes 3 procedures/treatment sessions/medical consultations within a 5 day working week, and we really needed a reply asap to either (re) reschedule signing at the Estate Lawyer's location or changing all our medical sessions as changing one session meant the rest had to be synchronised. The worst part was the confusion created after the notary signing. We were given the notarized documents to take home, only to find out that these documents should have first been returned to the Estate Lawyer's firm for them to keep an electronic copy of wet signature estate planning documents on file in the event a client loses their originals. Given the homecare duties and medical sessions, it was not easy for us to deliver them back the documents. Instead, Harkiran's team asked us to scan documents to her (the alternative was for us to deliver it back to them) -- that's 10 documents with many many pages. Two of the documents had 29 pages each, and after unstapling to scan, I had to go to Staples to ask them to re-staple for me as I do not have a stapler that can handle 29 pages. Frankly, this should have been their responsibilities. Eventually we received an apology, and were offered a complimentary legal consultation.

We actually really enjoyed talking to Harkiran, She's great. However, her team lacks the ability to attend to details. First, when we got the draft back for our wills, the legal names are not matching across documents. Seems like a basic check for the paralegals. To Harkiran's credit, she asked for o...ur feedback and we gave her that. It's nice when they do ask for feedback. Fast forward to the e-signing day. We had to have our documents amended and rescheduled and again, very grateful that they could accommodate for that. But we never received the final documents until I had to email them. I ended up receiving these documents from the notary (since they didn't respond until half hour before the actual signing). Again, probably not Harkiran's fault, but this is another indication that her team is not functioning well. I'd give the law firm 1 star because it's hard to trust a law firm that can't get the simple things right. The 2nd star is purely because Harkiran is a very nice person.

Harkiran was very helpful in guiding me through the process of creating a will and a medical directive. She explained the process throughly pointing out specific guideline that applied to being a Washington State resident as well as living out of state when given responsibilities of being the Exec...utor and POA. She was also helping in providing contact information and helpful resources for my family members after my death. She made the process easy and explained exactly what my responsibilities were during the signing and afterwards.
