Michael Thomas Sanders

I contacted Mr. Sanders after reviewing his website which contains statements such as "we take good care of our clients", "we listen to our clients", "we are ready to help you need it". Sadly, this was not my experience when speaking with Mr. Sanders. He began asking me direct questions in a somewhat... aggressive and argumentative manner, which I initially appreciated. As I am seeking legal counsel, I will admit an aggressive personality is acceptable. However, when I was unsure about a response and tried to seek clarification, he rudely stated, "just stick with yes or no answers". He stated I seemed "disorganized". I then apologized and stated it seemed as if I was "bothering him by calling", he stated "you can't expect to just call a lawyer and have them drop everything for you". At no time was that a demand or request from me, I simply was calling to inquire about representation for a DUI. My experience with Mr. Sanders is that he is extremely unprofessional, discourteous, and frankly demeaning. I am grateful he showed his true colors straightaway, so I know to seek help elsewhere.

I do not recommend this attorney. My father reached out to him regarding an issue with a dui I received almost 3 years ago (I live in a different state but still had my WA license at the time I was pulled over). He had two conversations with my dad (which I was not aware of). I called him myself to d...iscuss the issue since it is MY case. I barely got a word in before Mr. Sanders interrupted me and became argumentative. I could not understand why he would not let me fully explain the issue (DOL is claiming I did not comply with requirements when I did and have proof that I did). Eventually he mentioned having had two conversations with my dad at no charge and that talking to me was a third one. Again I wasn’t aware of the extent of their conversations and it seemed he was short tempered with me because he wasn’t being paid to listen to the reason I was seeking his service. He spoke to me as though I was an idiot and was trying to “get around the system”. I have the utmost respect for the law and followed everything as I was told to do. There is a discrepancy and I would like to put this experience behind me. We were actually looking to retain him for my case but after today we will be going elsewhere.

Michael defended me during my DUI case. He laid out all my options clearly. He made me feel comfortable and reassured during the whole process.
