I contemplated divorce for several years. It wasn't something I wanted to do, let alone initiate. I looked at DIY, consulted with and aggressive attorney, and soon realized neither of those could help me successfully navigate my divorce. I didn't want an aggressive approach, just a FAIR and JUST,... outcome. Michael was very responsive from the get go when I contacted him online. He gave me a figure to get started, and stuck to that amount without other fees, increases, or other things I'd heard attorney's will do. He offered to be as easy as I wanted, but fair. He also expressed that if needed, he could play hard ball, but it wasn't necessary and I'm thankful for that. Michael took my calls or texts when he didn't have to. Yes, there were times he couldn't get back to me right away, but when he did, we were able to sort out my questions easily. He did not charge me extra for this, no charge by the minute, no extra court charges, just getting it done and as amicable as possible. He listened to my concerns and I truly felt he cared about the outcome. My 1st divorce and my Ex's 4th. I am so very thankful to have had the legal expertise of Michael, when I knew very little of the process. He was very business like, but with a human aspect. Overall I can't explain how much it means to me that we completed the divorce as easily as possible. Yes, the process is VERY HARD, knowing this going is is key. I think an attorney that's too aggressive would have changed the outcome of the process. I'm thankful we didn't have to go that route because I had read horror stories about these, and I feel so badly for anyone who has had such an experience. Michael helped me achieve a good resolution to a very bad situation. It became apparent to me that a marital separation was necessary. Michael has been a blessing since the first time we connected. He is incredibly friendly, helpful and available to answer questions. He is very knowledgeable, and so far, has provided me with great results. As other reviewers have mentioned, you can tell that Michael is passionate about his work ...and is genuinely a good person too. There's nothing more that I could hope for in a lawyer than someone who not only has the skills and knowledge to help with my case, but also the dedication and passion to achieve the results I want and need. I'm eager to continue working with Michael and see how everything turns out, but even just the hope and support he has given me is worth a good review. My previous lawyer seemingly did not care, would not answer my questions or respond to my emails even. Michael is the exact opposite. He even has contacted me over the weekends and in the evenings on multiple occasions. After 2 years of numerous failed temporary parenting plans, disagreements between the Petitioner and I, along with failure to hold her in contempt regarding issues pertaining to an agreed plan in March 2019... I needed a lawyer. Michael Chin found my posting and I had contacted him immediately, in w...hich he had already reviewed my case so far. This was definitely an advantage because he already had an argument ready so I hired him right away. It was definitely hard to overcome the anxiety when standing before a judge, so voicing my opinion was difficult yet Michael kept reassuring me that as long as he was there everything would be fine and he was right. My only focus was to get a fair parenting plan finalized and he had gotten that along with sole-decision making and custodial rights. I believe Michael is a supportive, family-oriented and strategic attorney. He kept me calm and collective, made sure I didn't let my emotions get the best of me when we discussed the case which definitely helped a lot because overall, I got the results I needed rather than what I wanted. He used specific rhetoric within my parenting plan detailing conditions and stipulations that were fair to both parents, as well as the children ensuring that both the Petitioner and I were a part of our children's lives. And to the courts, whats best for the children are all that matters. Michael knew this and within reasoning played it to the best of his ability by being fair and unbiased towards the Petitioner. On another note, he's a funny guy.
