Sarah Jordan was highly recommended in my local Facebook group when I asked about needing my will put together. Someone added a link to her wills workshop that she does a couple times a month. It was free so my husband and I signed up. The free wills workshop was very informative. We learned a lo...t about why we needed a will, what contingencies we needed to plan for, and what the difference between power of attorney and a health care directive, etc. Mostly though, we got to know Sarah and how she explains things. She has this quality about her, she made us feel comfortable with her, like working with a friend and not some stiff lawyer stranger in a suit. We contracted Sarah to create our legal documents. The worksheet she gave us during the workshop was basically the starting point, but working with her one on one, she was able to customize our wills based on our personal wishes and long-term planning. We ended up meeting with her 3 times over the course of a month to get it all finalized. We are very happy with the end result, though hopefully it is something nobody will have to actually use for a very long time.

Both parents left a mess for me to go through after they died because they didn't do any real planning. It was a huge weight for someone that was already grieving to have to deal with. I knew I wanted to organize my estate so when I die the burden is minimized for those that have to deal with it. Sa...rah helped me figure out what I needed (and what I didn't need) as well as the best way to plan my estate so that everything is organized and clear when I die. My situation also involved a disabled brother and a special needs trust and Sarah walked me through my options and helped me decide the best way to proceed. She is calm and friendly, never rushed me, and explained everything thoroughly. Sarah was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls - even on weekends - and was willing to schedule appointments on Saturday to meet my schedule. Sarah did all of mine and my husband's Estate Planning documents including Wills, Power of Attorneys, Healthcare Directives, etc. Her initial consultation was informative and thorough. She turned around all documents in a t...imely fashion and setup a time to have them notarized and witnessed on a weekend which was excellent. We hired Sarah to do our estate plan, including wills, a trust for our children, and powers of attorney. Sarah's fees were all listed up front and it was clear what we'd be getting when we hired her. Sarah made the process easy for us with a questionnaire where we gave her all the information she nee...ded to write first drafts of all the documents. When we needed to discuss the drafts, Sarah was available for evening calls after the kids were in bed, and she answered all our questions clearly.
