Tara has been in practice for over 25 years. Receiving her bachelor's degree, with honors, in American Intellectual History from the University of Colorado at Boulder, she went on to law school at a Jesuit school, Creighton University, in Nebraska. Rising to the top of her class early on, Tara captured the American Jurisprudence Award (highest grade on the final exam) in Professional Responsibility (an attorney ethics class), Insurance, Family Law and Advanced Constitutional Law. She was also a member of the International Moot Court Team. Tara practiced in Anchorage, Alaska (where she was born) before moving back home to Eagle Point, Oregon.
Tara's practice has always been litigation centered. She was part of the team of lawyers whose efforts against insurance companies through appellate work and petitions to the Alaska Supreme Court resulted in the following published opinions; Holderness v. State Farm, 24 P.3d (Alaska 2001), Peter v. The Progressive Corporation, 986 P.2d 865 (Alaska 1999) and State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company v. Raymer 977 P.2d 706 (Alaska 1999).
Tara grew up on a big cattle ranch out in Eagle Point and spent her after school hours and summers riding and showing Quarter horses and helping work cattle around the ranch. She knows her way around litigation and also how to work the chute.

I hired Tara with the expectation of her doing a good job. She did an amazing job. She listened, explained the legal process and she got the result I needed. She far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend her.

Best in Town
I had a custody case over the summer that turned into a parenting plan modification. After reviewing my case Tara took me on with only a portion of her required fee. And then when the case fell through and we never went to court, Tara gave me my money back because I didn't understand the terms of our...

Waste of $6,000
My husband and I hired Ms Millan in 2015 to help us in the custody battle for his daughter. $6,000 later, we have absolutely nothing to show for it. She asked us for information that she never used and didnt need, then charges us to "review it". She encouraged me to email her my frustrations and ques...
"I work across the building from Tara - and here's what I can tell: she works harder for her clients than almost any attorney I know and she keeps a great attitude while doing it. She clearly has a passion for her clients and our profession that keeps her driven - and she has not lost sight of remaining a positive, social and engaging person. I would recommend Tara having seen her work!"
"I endorse this lawyer. Ms. Millan is well known and well respected in the Oregon Legal Community. She works hard to get good results for her clients."
