Passionate attorney

I have seen two other attorneys in the last four years about my divorce. None of them made me feel like they were on my side, they were just going through the motions. First time i met Tara she really listen to me about how my x has poisoned my children against me, she teared up and really listened t...o me, and believed me when i said that i just want to see my kids. She has passion for her job and generally cares about people, i felt that right away. She has done more for me in one month than two attorneys have done in two years. If you dont feel like you have been heard i recommend you talk to Tara and, she is not shy to say if im in the wrong in the way im doing things. But she also coaches me on how to deal in a more level positive way. The secretary is awsome in the since that she never makes me feel put off when i call the office. Thank you Tara! I only wish I would of found her years ago

Tara is a great attorney Integrity

Tara is helping us with a custody case and works so hard and with so much heart. We are so thankful that we found her. It is reassuring to find an ethical attorney in today's world. I would not hesitate to recommend Tara.

Best in Town

I had a custody case over the summer that turned into a parenting plan modification. After reviewing my case Tara took me on with only a portion of her required fee. And then when the case fell through and we never went to court, Tara gave me my money back because I didn't understand the terms of our... agreement and she, being the compassionate person she is, knew how hard financially all of this was on me and my family. Beyond just that, she is thorough and concise. She knows the county and she knows her stuff. Before we even signed on with her she saw me two times and guided me through legal processes I didn't understand. No lawyer I've ever had has had that kind of humanity. My first impression of Tara is she's a fighter. She'll go the distance for you. Having her on your side is a boon toward success. If I ever need legal assistance in Jackson County again she'll be the first person I call and you should too!

Waste of $6,000

My husband and I hired Ms Millan in 2015 to help us in the custody battle for his daughter. $6,000 later, we have absolutely nothing to show for it. She asked us for information that she never used and didnt need, then charges us to "review it". She encouraged me to email her my frustrations and ques...tions and charged me for each email. Her responses were not adequate and I felt she didnt know the answer to many of my questions despite charging me for asking them. In the beginning she told us that for her to represent us in court the approximate amount would be around $5,000-$7,000 total. We ended up paying $6,000 and did not even go to court. We ended up running out of money and having to cancel our representation. In the end, we had no choice but to take whatever the other party was willing to give us. We were left with nothing. This was a horrible and expensive lesson for me about lawyers. She was very friendly and nice but in the end did nothing for us except file a few papers and charge us for responses to her questions.

"I work across the building from Tara - and here's what I can tell: she works harder for her clients than almost any attorney I know and she keeps a great attitude while doing it. She clearly has a passion for her clients and our profession that keeps her driven - and she has not lost sight of remaining a positive, social and engaging person. I would recommend Tara having seen her work!"

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
