Gil Feibleman was a blessing to me at a difficult time in my life. My situation was a tough one and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed near impossible. He remained professional throughout the entire process. Gil has a lot of experience with divorce cases and is very intelligent with h...is thought process. His strategies were very forward-thinking, and he was always straight forward with me with the good and the bad. His assistant Rita is amazing and a great asset to the team! She's professional, organized and has a very kind calm demeanor about her! Not only did I get my needs met with the divorce, but he helped me sustain my family and business. Everyone knows that divorce is expensive, but if you hire the right attorney it will save you tons in the end! My family, business and I are so grateful to him and I would recommend him and his team without reservation.

Superb attorney

Gil is one of 7 attorneys I have hired for divorce proceedings. 5 have been more interested in their fees rather than results. Gil has been a complete professional: meticulous, detail-oriented; results-oriented, knowledgeable and experienced and of course caring. He gets the job done when most others... will tell you it can't be done. He has pride of ownership in the quality of his work, something that should be natural for a professional but unfortunately appears to be rare in this profession. I cannot recommend him any higher.

When you have to jump in feet first, always have a shark on your side.

I have been divorced with children for six years and seen many a lawyer in that time. In my experience most lawyers in our area have a wait and see additude towards custody and family matters. This wait and see, and what I perceive as lazy approach, has cost me not only time with my children, but u...nnecessary amounts of money. During my very first consultation with Mr. Feibleman I knew he was a man of action and results. A lawyer that never used the term "um", or had to look up a statute in my presence impressed me from the word go. Mr. Feibleman's confidence and swift responses are sure to put any client at ease. For the first time since my divorce I am happy to pay for a lawyer that does what he says when he says he's going to do it. There were no surprises, and, under the circumstances, I am very pleased with the service and outcome I received. If you want the best, hire Gil Feibleman!

Great Attorney (and great Rita too)

It is hard for me to know where to begin. I was in a relationship for 22 years, married in another country because the US didn't recognize same sex couples. I spent 10 years, after my ex walked out on our 3 children and I, in a state of Limbo. Married in another Country but unable to divorce without ...being a resident there, living in a Country that didn't recognize I was married. Finally Oregon decided to honor same sex marriage. Almost immediately I was served with Divorce papers. I had no problem agreeing to the divorce. I had been waiting a long time for that. The big problem was that hidden somewhere in all those legal papers was one that said my EX was asking for custody of our youngest child. I had always had full custody of the children, while my ex had parenting time. When she left they were 3, 7 and 9 years old. Suddenly, when my baby is 13 years, old my ex wants to take her from me AND ... move her to California. To say I was a wreck is an understatement. I knew I had to call Gil. I had spoken to him years before when divorce wasn't possible, and he had been so helpful in guiding me through the situation I was in. Gil and Rita were amazing, supportive and respectful through the whole process. From the minute I contacted Gil he took control of the situation. At first I wondered why my attorney was doing all the work while my ex’s attorney seemed to sit back and watch. I soon learned it wasn't so he could make more money. It was his way of helping the case go in the direction we needed it to go. It took quite some time, but the case did go in the direction we had hoped for. I first was granted full custody of both the minor children (the oldest was over 18, so he was not part of the custody issue.) Later the divorce was finalized. Gil and Rita made sure that we were ready every step of the way and kept me informed about what to expect next. I can’t say that this was an easy or enjoyable process, but I can say that it would have been so much harder without the guidance and support I received.

Custody for Paternal Grandparents - It's possible. We accomplished it.

Love, fear, doubt, confusion, anxiety, helplessness, resolve... emotions consuming us upon receiving our grandchild into our home shortly after birth. Mother's mental health crisis, Immediate danger, father's temp custody, status quo, hearings, custody evaluation, third party petitioners, Psychologic...al Parents, father's mental health crises, our temp custody... and finally custody!... We have the same status as biological parents now. I can't imagine a more complex custody case than ours. Time? Cost? Stress? A lot. I lost track. Our grandchild is so worth it and I would start all over again tomorrow if I had to... but only with Gil and Rita. Our family is thankful for you in a way I can't find words for.

"I have worked with Gil for over 15 years, both in contested litigation matters as opposing counsel and through using his services as a reference judge and mediator. You simply cannot find a lawyer with a greater breadth of legal knowledge than Gil. He is extremely nuanced in his understanding of all issues of divorce law, but particularly property division, spousal support, and complex matters such as dividing businesses, trusts, tax impacts, and other topics. His history as a litigator in the courtroom allows him to use all facets of a divorce proceeding to get to the heart of any issue effectively and, in many cases, to create value by identifying ways to divide assets or structure settlements that maximize the benefit to both parties. I endorse Gil’s work as a reference judge and mediator in any dissolution of marriage matter."

"I have used Gil’s services as a reference judge on several cases where I needed a judge that is “certifiably knowledgeable” regarding divorce law, particularly in high asset cases where you do not want to deal with the court’s slow docket, the “luck of the draw” judge assigned the case, problematic opposing attorney, etc. Kill was always available to take a call from both lawyers to resolve a discovery or other interim issue without the necessity of filing all of the paperwork, motions, etc. that would have been required had the case stayed in the court’s system. He also made scheduling a top priority on his calendar. I highly recommend him."

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
