Great Attorney!

First time needing a lawyer not to mention it was relating to very significant criminal charges. He was very helpful and empathetic. He helped our family understand the law, legal standards and what to expect. I would hire him again in a heartbeat! He is smart and knows what he is doing. He was the r...ight choice!

Amazed

Mark asked me in our consultation, of how I would like the results to end up, if I hired him. I told him that I would like to have my charge reduced to a lesser charge. I wasn't sure what to make of Mark , during our initial meeting. I looked around his office and noticed a plaque on his wall that... said "100 top trial attorneys in Oregon". I believe that's what it said. I felt more comfortable in my decision making, after seeing that. I hired him, we went to court to try to plea and the assistant DA wasn't budging on a plea. We went back to court on our next and final court appearance, and it was like watching a magician at work. He had done his homework and then some. He was so prepared, that the assistant DA was left speechless and struggling to fight. She didn't stand a chance. I wasn't sure what had happened until we exited the court room. Mark explained to me what happened.......ALL CHARGES WERE DROPPED! I couldn't believe it. I was expecting a lesser charge, but Mark's hard work paid off. I'd use him again without hesitation and would highly recommend him. He's very good at his job. Thank you, Mark. -Andrew

Do not hire this man

I wish I had read these reviews before hiring Geiger. He over charged, was non responsive, missed timelines and deadlines. It is a small office and not professionally run. His " secretary" is some gal working off her iou bill to him. Don't hire him. We lost in court and all I did was pay pay pay.

I am sorry that this person is unhappy. However, the review lacks honesty. First, the person laments because he/she wishes she read the reviews on AVVO. Well, the reviews are mostly very positive. Additionally, there are very few deadlines and timelines in criminal cases. For example, there would be a deadline for filing certain motions. When I file them, which is only when necessary, I don't miss those deadlines. Second, I am offended that this person would criticize my secretary, who is not "working off an IOU" and who is very good at what she does. Third, I do not over charge; in fact, I am usually cheaper than many other lawyers. Clients know exactly what they have to pay when they hire me, because they sign a contract, agreeing to pay a flat fee. I often take payments. Finally, very few of my clients "lose" in court. If they do, it is either because they did not have a good case or because the judge made an error. In the later case, those losses can be appealed. Finally, it is obvious that this is a person who is angry and seeks to blame others. I am sad for him/her. People come to me who are in trouble and I do everything I can to get them out of it. Sometimes, the best we can do is to mitigate the punishment. I do that regularly.

Trouble Resolved.

I was on a road trip last year from Los Angeles. Got myself in trouble with littering. Was told by the police that I have to appear in court. Explained to him that Im from Los Angeles and it would be kind of inpossible to appear to which he replied that I can do an online affidavit. I trusted the cop... and months later I called to check out that there is no such online affifavit that i can do. Got Cop conned. Anyway, I had a lot of trouble with irresponsible and unresponsive lawyers until i found Mark. He treated my case as if it was his own case. Was responsive to my calls and was very patient with me. We need more lawyers like you in LA!

When There's No "Innocence Project" in OR, Call Mark Geiger

If you have been falsely-accused of a crime, but are actually innocent, Mark Geiger and his investigative team with Eric Mason are the only ones I've met in Oregon who can serve as the equivalent to an "Innocence Project" and advocate well-enough to save you! The process took two and one half years ...to investigate, gather sworn exculpatory witness affidavits which could clearly prove my innocence, and wait for my turn on the docket for fairness when Truth finally revealed itself, but Mark prepared an excellent Appeal with the new evidence as Exhibits, WON the Appeal, and the wrongful conviction was REVERSED! I HIGHLY recommend him as an Appeals Attorney! Though the ACLU had filed an Amicus Brief on my behalf, the Appeals Court had plenty to overturn without that. When the charge was finally dismissed and I'd been released to my weary family, we thanked God for helping us find men of integrity who were genuinely willing to help when we couldn't "afford justice" and did not just presume guilt. Bless you, Mark, Eric, and Team for saving my life! A Woman Who Was Actually Innocent

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2002.

Reprimand issued in OR, 2002

This means the lawyer did something wrong but the bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
