Hands down Young Walgenkim Hanson & Walgenkim, LLC is the most reputable law office I've ever had the pleasure to work with.
If you ever need an trustworthy, genuine lawyer, with the highest level of passion for justice in resolving a case on consumer protection, YOU ARE VISITING THE RIGHT SITE IN THIS MOMENT! Young Walgenkim AND his associates are THE crème of the crop!
After two unsuccessful consultations, I was led to Young. What really gravitated me to call him was the compliments about his professionalism from previous clients and HIS peers on the web. What really sold me to hire Young, was our first meeting. He and his associates are very real, up front and genuine with much integrity to resolve a case. I felt his desire to protect consumers. To protect me in my case.
My case was very complicated. Many participants, large and small businesses, but this did not deter his interest in my case.
He made no promises up front he couldn't deliver (Oh like, perhaps the salesman, that landed me in a situation to need a lawyer in the first place). His approach, which I found refreshing, was to keep me involved every step of the way. He educates, then advises the different solutions with outcomes. His personal approach in advisement, allowed me to be in full control of decisions, but what ultimately won my case was his direction. He never takes the easy way out, he's very methodical for the best outcome for your overall protection.

Another Portland law firm, Baxterlaw, and one other (Kafoury & McDougal) thought highly enough of the Hanson & Walgenkin firm to refer us to them. We are more than pleased with the referral. Within 3 months of first contacting Hansen and Walgenkim, our case has settled to our full satisfaction. All of our monies lost in the bad car deal returned, including those we spent on mechanical repairs to the car for breakdowns that occured within 2 days of purchasing it from the swindling lot.
Young Walgenkim, and Christopher Hamilton there, helped us recover the nearly $8k we lost in a bad used car deal. At lightening speed. With their responsiveness, concern for our situation and skill. They help us - despite a "Warranty. As Is" clause in our purchase paperwork, because they KNOW the law, and are hands-on and skillful and tactful with negotiation.
The story... We had purchased a 2002 Mini Cooper from a used car lot in Portland. The transmission blew within a few weeks - the dealer knew it was going to fail. The CVT transmissions in Mini Coopers between 2002 - 2006 are defective - so much so that that BMW North America, sued in a big class-action, is offering to replace them under certain conditions (look it up).
But because of Hansen and Walkgenkim, we didn't have to go hassle the complicated route of class actions to fix our problem.
The dealer knew our transmission would fail but did not disclose it. The dealer knew this, because his wife had driven the car for a month before he put for sale on the lot. He unloaded the car on us when he became aware that it's breakdown was imminent. The Mini also had other severe problems (cooling assembly, within a few days of buying it, we spent $1k replacing the fan assembly). We were stuck, and were forced to buy another car. And screwed out of significant monies, at a hard time. To complicate things, we were out of state when it broke down, and we were stranded.
We asked the dealer several times to refund our money on the purchase and to also reimburse the repairs they knew would be needed. The dealer simply, frustratingly, offered to charge us "only" $50 per hour to have their lot mechanic repair the transmission - a "refurbished" transmission. But we were looking at a proper (Mini certified mechanic) fix that would have cost $8,750. (Always use a brand dealer mechanic, not one that a used-car-lot has on site).
Long story short: Hansen & Young tactfully forced the dealer to give us our money back, and to pay for the fan assembly repairs, and to pay their own towing from out of state. Without having to go to court.
From the beginning, Young, and later Christopher, were very hands on and very responsive. They listened well, and they guided us appropriately in gathering the information we needed to make our case. We went through some negotiations with the other side, and Christopher Hamilton did a super job of writing one of the most powerful and compelling demand letters I have seen (I have a legal background, both his and Young's letters to the other side were outstanding, believe me). And after we concluded the settlement negotiations, their firm did an excellent and tactful job of connecting with and thanking the other side's attorney for their professional approach to the situation..
Thanks to Portland's Baxterlaw and the Kafoury & McDougal firms for referring us Hansen and Walgenkim. It is reassuring to know that great lawyers know other great lawyers, and that they make sure that Oregon consumers are protected against briar patch schmucks like the used car dirtbags we stumbled into. If you are ever screwed by consumer fraud - especially one that involves being swindled by a used car dealer - contact the Hanson & Walgenkin firm in Salem.
