Corruption and indifference

Bragged to offense attorney about how good business was for himself during court due to his docket being so full. Very brief and short. Knows very little about the legal aspects of DUI. Merely knows how to work the system, as to get in and out as quickly as possible. Could care less about you as a pe...rson or individual. Very passive aggressive. The sorriest type of person you want for a defense attorney. After one week of reviewing federal and Oregon state laws, I can tell you for fact that several law suits need to be pursued. 1) The state violates federal rights to possess guns while denying your rights for possession, during participation of a diversion program for a simple misdemeanor offense ( there needs to be a $250 million class action lawsuit against the state of Oregon by the federal government for those violated). 2) The risk of serious bodily injury to others and yourself, while distracted during the operation of a vehicle when blowing on a breathalyzer ignition locking device repeatedly is seriously dangerous. The charge of a simple misdemeanor DUI for having blown a .09 BAC, which would have little likelihood of causing injury to anyone, as you’re only buzzed and not seriously impaired, does not justify the court imposed actions. “Two wrongs never make a right”. Intentionally creating a dangerous situation for others, doesn’t make up for someone’s poor judgement. 3) An officer needs reasonable suspicion to pull you over. Sitting outside a bar and grill and pulling over someone after leaving , while making up an absolute lie to justify their actions to obtain a charge of “reckless driving” is committing a felony in order to charge someone for a misdemeanor. One must understand, the court system is not a system of justice. The court system is where an application of the law is acquired. The state of Oregon, the police officers, the judge, and the lawyers are not beyond these measures of the law.

Worst experience

First of all, it's my fault for not going with my gut feeling and stood my ground with my husband . That being said my husband went to see him about bankruptcy , we were less then 20,000, in debt. He didn't recommend consumer credit counseling or consolidation as an alternative which he also helps ...people with. On top of that my mother was terimal. From what I have read you should never file if you intend to inherit. My husband said he told him about my mother and he still didn't advise him to a different avenue. So yes my mother past. Once you you can't go back. I had to surrender my inheritance this all started in August, it now almost January and still don't have what was left over back., my credit it screwed even though i paid it all off. On top of the bad advise he has only replied to me a few times and that's when I said I would go to the trustee to find out. I have never had to deal with lawyers so this would be my first experience and it has been miserable.

Worst experience Ive ever had

So I hired Braunstien for a criminal case, and he told me had done cases like it before, but when it came down to it, I knew the laws better than him. I am not trying to smear his name, but simply stating what happened to me. He asked about money before he ever asked about the case, which I should ha...ve seen as a red flag. So after I showed up to my first court case, I was really anxious to know what would happen next. I told Braunstein this and he took about 20 days to respond back to me. He then got the papers from the police, which I was anxious to find out if there was anything in the reports that could help my case. He stated there was none, and he acted as though he had never even looked at them. He just seemed very unwilling to help, and I had paid him good money. So here is the kicker. I had a final court appearance, and Braunstein had never once told me that he wouldnt be there, and I had assumed he would be there given the way he spoke to me about preparing for it. It never crossed my mind, that he wouldnt just not show up. But of course what does he do? Doesnt show up, no explanation, and here I am waiting for him. The judge even felt bad and had the court call him, as the judge couldnt believe that my lawyer would just not show up. So based on what has happened to me, and my experience, I certainly cannot recommend anyone use Jacob Braunstein.

The superstar of Bankruptcy lawyers

Jake worked hard to make sure I understood the whole process in filing my bankruptcy. As nervous as I was in the beginning, he put me at ease with his knowledge and compassion. Its hard to find a lawyer who doesn't treat you like just another client. Jake kept me informed all the way and I never had ...to chase him down to see what was going on. I would recommend him to anyone looking to ease the nervousness and hard choice of filing bankruptcy.

Best Attorney I've Ever Used

Choosing Mr. Braunstein to represent me on a DUII was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I couldn't have asked for a better attorney. He kept me well informed and was very knowledgeable. He helped me through a very stressful situation and wanted to take my case to trial where other attorneys t...old me I should just plead out. We took it to trial and won! Anyone who needs a great defense attorney this is your guy!

  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
