Peter Diamond is a people-oriented attorney who was naturally drawn to family law after an extensive and diverse practice in business, real estate, estate planning, and general litigation.
“I like people. I’m interested in people’s personalities, culture, and personal histories. And I like to help people when I can. For me, family law is both intellectually stimulating and rewarding.”
Pete is a highly skilled and efficient trial lawyer. He is also trained in collaborative divorce and offers this as an alternative to traditional, contested divorce litigation. His experience in business law and as a business owner makes him effective in complex property division matters, including family enterprises.
Clients quickly learn that Pete is committed to their cases. He is a diligent communicator and can be relied upon to pursue all details of a case to its conclusion.
“I want people to see my character, and not just hear my words. When I say something will get done, it gets done.”
Originally from Boston, Pete fell in love with Oregon while attending law school at Willamette University. He enjoys road trips, history, and spending time outdoors and with his family.
He is admitted to practice in all Oregon State Courts, the Oregon Federal District Court, and the Tribal Court of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon. He regularly appears in Multnomah County, Clackamas County, Washington County, and Columbia County.

Horrible attorney.
If your ex hires a pitbull, this guy is a passive aggressive pug. He knows the law, but has absolutely no fight. I got completely hammered by my ex with his help. For instance, we have 2 children, and he just gave away any tax deduction for kids. All her’s now. I payed well over $60k to this guy...

He's smart but lacks huge tenacity....would never use him!
Pete is smart and knows his game, but clearly he also knows about billable hours and taking the easy way out to get things done quick, rather than right. Remember, when he does a deal and you have to settle, you have to live with it.....he doesn't! Don't hire this guy unless you want to settle on h...

Job well done
Mr. Diamond was hired to work a case another attorney had dropped midstream. He jumped right in knowing it was going to be a challenge to get it done & did just that...got it done. He fought for his client to get a fair & reasonable judgement in a difficult divorce spanning multiple states and other ...

Would recommend
I would whole heartedly recommend Pete Diamond as a domestic relations attorney in the State of Oregon. I worked with Pete on an extensive case which involved strong emotions, as well as close legal questions, and found him to be a strong advocate both in negotiations as well as in trial, while alwa...
"Pete is a really solid family law attorney, perhaps the most capable attorney I’ve ever met. Pete is an icon in the family law community and he executes his craft with surgical precision."
"Pete is a dream to have as opposing counsel: tough, smart, reasonable and professional. I frequently refer clients to him and know that they can look forward to excellent, compassionate representation. Pete is an asset to the family law bar and he couldn't be a nicer person."
"Peter Diamond was a joy to work with on a very hotly contested divorce we had together several years ago. He was always professional, and never lost his cool, even under very trying circumstances. He took a well-reasoned position and tried to resolve the case short of trial, in order to save his client money and avoid the emotional tumult of trying the case. While our clients despised each other, he and I remained cordial in our attempts to reach a mutually agreeable settlement of the case. After a few hours of shuttling back and forth with our clients and the judge, we were able to resolve the case on the day of trial. I enjoy working with Peter and know when he is on the other side, there will be no pointless posturing; he's fair, honest and a born problem solver. Highly recommended."
