James Bruce Lewis

James has helped me with a few legal issues. After getting arrested for an underage DUI, I was depressed and hopeless. Luckily I had a friend refer me to James and from there it was completely taken care of and stress-free -- case dismissed. It took over a year but James knows how to work the legal p...rocess to allow for the best possible outcome for his clients. Most recently, I was cited for driving without insurance and he was able to work it out so that the case was immediately dismissed on my initial court appearance - when does that ever happen? I can only thank him and his expertise for the positive results that came out of these traffic court nightmares. Never did I think I would have a lawyer who was so excellent at their job while still making me feel like a valued client and most importantly, an innocent human being. I'll be brief and and start from the beginning. Was pulled over and the officer arrested me for DUI (and also cited me for driving on expired license). Instead of calling the attorneys who sent notices in the mail, I googled DUI Lawyer Hawaii and James Lewis was the first match. I left a voicemail ...for James and he called me back right away. Listened to my story and gave me his legal opinion (we were more than likely to have this case end in our favor). We made an appointment to meet in person over the weekend. He spent an hour going over the entire legal process and what to expect. He was very thorough and extremely patient with me in answering all of my questions. James said he would handle all the motions/filings/subpoenas to prepare for my case. He was able to get a copy of the police report for me as well. A couple months later, we got a court date and attended together. James knew exactly how to win this case and did exactly that in front of the judge. I was acquitted of DUI. Eventually I had the expired license charge dismissed as well. Overall: He's very open and honest. I asked him what his case workload was like and he admitted it's pretty high. But he never once made me feel like I wasn't a priority. He's very passionate about representing his client and fighting/winning for them. I never once felt like I was lied to or given the "run-around" which I appreciated. Although I hired him to represent me in my DUI case, he also handled the expired license case free of charge. The level of service James Lewis provided to me was outstanding and left me very happy. Advice: If you hire James (which you should) and meet at his place of business, take off your shoes before entering.

James was great. My case was postponed once. The second hearing came around and the state was unprepared again (the officer did not show again). Unfortunately, the judge for our hearing always likes to give the state a third chance, which occurred for two separate cases in the same hearing before ...my case was called. When I was called, James argued my specific circumstances for a dismissal. Being out of state, my financial situation and the expense to fly in for trial twice, having had my license already be revoked, and also pointed out that the officer once was sick and now was on vacation. The judge sided with us and the case dismissed. I was very pleased and surprised. Previous attorneys moved for dismissal with no argument and were nonchalantly overruled by the judge. James forced the judge to think about my situation and brought out the judge's sympathy. He did a wonderful job under pressure.

After talking to Attorney James Lewis, my husband and I both felt good about hiring him. He interrupted his dinner out to talk to me on a Saturday evening. We were quite upset about learning of our daughter's DUI and speeding ticket. I thought I would be leaving a message but James answered the ph...one and called me back after he excused himself from his dinner. He took the time to explain both the civil and criminal side. We were at a loss when this happened so I researched Yelp and Avvo and James had all great reviews. He didn't disappoint us; he is easy to talk to and always made my daughter feel comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this man. He will be the first I call if ever we are in need of an attorney. You can't go wrong with him.

I was pulled over by HPD, and received a ticket which I felt were all false charges. I contacted James Lewis and he was confident in fighting these bogus charges.
