DUI CASE DISMISSED!!! James is absolutely worth his weight in gold. Pay for his expertise and professional team, priced reasonably. My anxiety and stress had decreased tremendously when hiring James. James was able to answer all my questions on how to proceed which took the fear out of not knowing wh...at to do. He handled all the paperwork, court proceedings, spoke on my behalf in the courtroom, and even showed up to court to represent me when I was unable to make it one time. ames B. Lewis did an incredible job on my case! The hardest part about my case were the results of the Field Sobriety Tests. The prosecutor was portraying the officer as a "professional" regarding his training in detecting impairment and recognizing DUI. James had the officer explain his training ...in great detail and turned that all around. The Judge said the court would not consider the officer as a professional in this area. When the officer explained the events of my arrest in great detail, James questioned him. He asked if I was being detained when he pulled me over, prior to me taking any field sobriety tests. The officer said "yes" in front of the judge. Since I had been pulled over for speeding, but not driving recklessly or erratically in any way, he had violated my 4th amendment right. James filed a motion to suppress and the judge granted it. Bam! My field sobriety tests could no longer be used in this case. He fought for me hard. Plenty of cheap over the counter lawyers could care less about your outcome. I will recommend James to any friends or family that find themselves in a similar situation.

Got stopped for a DUI for a second time and fearing the consequences I decided to hire an attorney. I researched countless attorneys and read the outcomes of their cases, James' cases have all resulted in positive outcomes even those that were not dismissed, he unquestionably protected his clients. W...hen we first met we arranged a payment plan and he was very clear about the next stages we would enter in my case. My case lasted nearly two years and he was never once missed an appointment and always answered my concerns in the process. I'll be brief and and start from the beginning. Was pulled over and the officer arrested me for DUI (and also cited me for driving on expired license). Instead of calling the attorneys who sent notices in the mail, I googled DUI Lawyer Hawaii and James Lewis was the first match. I left a voicemail ...for James and he called me back right away. Listened to my story and gave me his legal opinion (we were more than likely to have this case end in our favor). We made an appointment to meet in person over the weekend. He spent an hour going over the entire legal process and what to expect. He was very thorough and extremely patient with me in answering all of my questions. I never once felt like I was lied to or given the "run-around" which I appreciated. Although I hired him to represent me in my DUI case, he also handled the expired license case free of charge. The level of service James Lewis provided to me was outstanding and left me very happy. Advice: If you hire James (which you should) and meet at his place of business, take off your shoes before entering.

Just completed my DUI trial. The total time from arrest to trial was about 4 months. James is very upfront about everything from price to walking you through this difficult, scary process. I left everything to him, from getting my license back from ADLRO (in less than 3 weeks) the arraignment (which ...he handled) to the actual trial. Don't let his nonchalant attitude fool you, it is because he truly knows what he's doing. The biggest thing with him is he will not plea bargain, he will fight as long as it takes to get your case dismissed or found not guilty. During trial I felt there were inaccuracies and discrepancies from the testimonies and thought they should be brought up to discredit the witnesses, but I believed in James and let him do his thing. He did not have to cross examine too much because he felt the prosecution's case was weak. In the end, I was found not guilty. Total relief, trust James he is the best hands down.
