I am not a big fan of these national credit reporting agencies (CRAs), holding sensitive financial information on each of us, making millions of dollars each year by selling that info to others. It would be okay if they were diligent in keeping our personal data accurate, but as millions of people ha...ve discovered, they do not and will often ignore valid requests from individuals for correction. And incorrect info on our reports mean the inability to obtain better interest rates costing us more money, not qualifying for a home purchase and in some cases, causing us to lose a great job opportunity. I’ve spent years trying to correct inaccurate information on my credit reports with limited success, primarily because these credit reporting agencies have no financial incentive, either positive or negative, to help consumers. However, a good friend of mine pointed out that the value of engaging a solid attorney with a through understanding of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA) and other related credit matters is invaluable, as it helps cut through all of the B.S. so the CRAs take your claim seriously and immediately. I found Andrew who practices here locally in Hawaii thru this website. After speaking to him, his breathe of knowledge of credit law and willingness to explore issues I felt were important to me made it easy to engage him and his company. Suffice to say, his results have far, far exceeded my initial expectations (big mahalo/thank you Andrew!!). Great communication with timely responses, a willingness to go out of his way to patiently explain things in plain language when I was confused with things and backed up by a equally friendly and efficient staff that made this whole experience a pleasure to be part of. I live in Texas and my identity was stolen by a CPA who did my taxes while I was living in Va. I posted my question to AVVO and they had me look up attorney's in the area where it took place. I contacted Andrew and he just asked me to send him information on where I was during the time this took plac...e and stated he would handle it. He always kept me in the loop of things and made it perfectly clear that he would do everything in his power to fix the issue. Whenever he asked me to send documents I did and he'd let me know the status of the claim and what was going on. I appreciate everything he did for me and all of this was done while I live in Texas, I've never met him in person but he is a life saver. He got my case resolved and had letters typed up for me to send to the credit reporting agencies once it was resolved to remove it from my credit report. He even went so far as to go after the credit reporting agencies who didn't remove it from my credit report.
