Joedy Paul Defrank

The saying goes “Those you meet in life are either a lesson or a blessing” is so true and my hiring Mr. Defrank was a lesson to me as to the people I wished I never met and hired for services in my life. Once I paid Mr. Joedy Defrank his required fee of $2500 and signed the contract with him, I ...was left hanging in the dark every day, without any phone calls nor emails to me as to how he would represent me moving forward with my divorce/alimony proceedings. He was my second attorney I hired since my first one didn't do anything for me. My continued phone calls to him, leaving voice messages for him to do so and even my CA attorney cousin writing him an email, pleading with him to just touch base with me before my upcoming court hearing and also a trial left me so anxious and upset I didn't know what to do. He never discussed strategy with me to prepare me for my upcoming court proceedings which I find to be most unprofessional in my opinion. I will leave it there and you can decide for yourself if he is a good fit for you as to your attorney.

He handled my case very well. Costs were reasonable and he did everything in a timely manner and made sure that I was well informed as to what to expect, what the next steps would be in the process and so on. He has a very direct way to communicate, which I greatly appreciated. He was easy to contact... via telephone and email. He also did all contact with my ex, which helped to make it a smooth process for everyone. He traveled to Southern California for my case and helped to alleviate any worry or stress that I had. He was referred to me by family and friends. I would also refer him to others and have already.

I flat out laugh at these canned 4+ star ratings. I hired Joedy from a pre-paid legal service that I had from my work. Joedy was incompetent from the start. He failed to file my income reports at the first divorce hearing and told me that he would just get a continuance. He was denied the contiuan...ce and my now exwife got 3/4 of my paycheck because he screwed up. He then refused to return my phone calls and it took over a year for him to finalize my divorce. I had to threaten to report him to the CA Bar to get him motivated. I ended up doing all if the leg work from 1200 miles away. But if your soon to be ex is in need of lawyer recommend this joke for sure.

I hired Joedy after speaking with two other attorneys. He spoke for me at a restraining order hearing, throughout my divorce and afterwards at both spousal and child support hearings. He's extremely knowledgeable about law, was able to stop harassing and derogatory tactics by the other attorney, an...d gave me far better representation than I thought possible. In my opinion, the best way to learn about an attorney is to observe how they are received by other lawyers and the judges. I've seen other lawyers come up to Joedy to ask his advice, I've seen judges and pro-tem judges asking his advice as well. He is extremely well liked and respected by the staff and other attorneys. I think that is a far higher recommendation than any that I might give.
