Jonathan Paul Hoybjerg

Paul Hoybjerg represents those who have been victims of abuse, and negligence. He protects and empowers individuals who have been hurt and helps them receive the justice they deserve.

Paul was a victim of negligence at his birth. Due to professionals disregarding warning signs, and not taking precaution, his right arm has been permanently damaged. At an early age he became keenly aware that when someone, in a position of trust, does not act the way they should, there can be devastating and long-lasting consequences. Like many of the courageous people Paul works with, he learned to overcome, and not give up. He ended up being a 4-year varsity sports letterman in high school, earning Valedictorian, and being named Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

When people come to Paul as victims of sexual abuse, car crashes, and tragedies, he believes them, trusts them completely, and seeks to earn their trust. The experience he has as a victim, helps him accurately demonstrate the devastating impact his clients have endured. Paul has found that this emotional connection and passion to help victims has driven the way he practices law. In one case, his client suffered from a permanent wrist injury. After countless hours of Paul passionately fighting for his client, the opposing attorney told the insurance company “Paul takes these things personal, it’s as if he is arguing his own personal case. He doesn’t stop.”

Paul has been nationally recognized for his advocacy skills. He has been named a SuperLawyers Rising Star which only the top 2.5% of attorneys are named. He has a perfect 10/10 AVVO rating. He has been published on legal topics regarding liability and technology in 3 different states: Massachusetts, Utah, and California. His work has been nationally syndicated in the May 2019 edition of The Computer and Internet Lawyer. He has also been published, in a statewide publication, on how to get the most money in Traumatic Brain Injury cases. He has appeared on NBC and Fox News for a case involving a little girl who was injured at school.
Much of a community’s beauty is having people from all walks of life come together and celebrate differences. Paul has worked with and helped build up those around him. Paul speaks Spanish fluently and has served as Vice-President of La Raza Lawyers of Sacramento and helped transition La Raza Lawyers to the Cruz Reynoso Bar Association. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento County Bar Association. He co-founded the Courts and Clergy Lawyers Auxiliary which is comprised of representatives from the Church of Jesus Christ, Catholic, Muslim, and Jewish legal bar associations. He has served as the Political Chair of the New Lawyers Division for the Consumer Attorneys of California, and as the Chair of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
Paul is relentless, and will use every legal resource and personal connection at his disposal to help those who are victims. Healing can happen when people get the help they deserve. Paul will listen, care, pursue justice, build a tribe of support around the individual, and be their advocate.
