I am a law-abiding person, and I had the bad luck of getting arrested on the suspicion of DUI in Oakland. This was probably the worst experience in my life, and I still get jitters when I think about the incident. This was my first encounter with law enforcement, and I can still remember that I was s...hivering and fumbling with my words. I had a few beers and was returning home from my friend’s place, CHP officer stopped me citing I was weaving my car so I was made to take the sobriety test, which I felt I passed, and the officer mentioned that I don’t have to take a breath test and it’s totally my choice so I rejected it. I was arrested on the suspicion of DUI. Later, I did undergo a more accurate breath test at the police station and my BAC was borderline, but I was still held in the police station until morning. I was really scared, nervous, and angry at myself as I had jeopardized my stay in this country (I am on a work visa) but I also felt that the CHP officer didn’t follow all the protocols. I am so grateful to have found Thomas Fleming to represent me for my case. I cannot say enough about how thankful I am for Thomas and the services he has provided me. When my arrest occurred, I was in a place of fear, anger and anxiety. I was able to avoid both jail time and community service, as well as save hundreds of dollars in court fees. A miracle in itself! Also, I faced a year long hard license suspension as a result of the charge, yet Thomas was able to get my license retroactively suspended! Thus, I was able to keep my license from being suspended after the case was resolved. Miracles I would have never thought possible occured, in part because I trusted Thomas's experience, but also because I understood the outcome would be God’s will for me. At this point in my life my faith has never been stronger and had I not met Thomas, I question where I would be in my spiritual journey and in life. Throughout this entire process and these experiences, I felt confident and assured knowing I had Thomas in my corner. I would be cutting Thomas short to simply refer to him as an excellent lawyer. He is an incredibly thoughtful and compassionate person who only wants the best for those he works and comes in contact with. I am forever grateful for all that he has done for me.
