My practice primarily focuses on employment and commercial counseling and litigation and prosecution of civil rights violations. In 2001, I earned my J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where I was a member of Phi Delta Phi, International Legal Fraternity. In 1997, I received a B.A. in Sociology from Arizona State University where I was a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, International Sociology Honor Society. I am currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the Santa Clara County Bar Association.
I litigate employment matters such as wrongful discharge and termination claims; benefits litigation involving wage and hour issues, unpaid commissions, vacation pay, and severance pay; ERISA litigation; contract and labor disputes; unfair competition and trade secrets; sexual harassment; and retaliation cases. I have tried cases in superior court, federal court, arbitration and administrative proceedings. I have defeated more than a dozen summary judgment motions.
I counsel clients on every facet of the employer-employee relationship, such as hiring practices, the establishment of personnel policies, compensation issues, and layoffs and terminations.
Prior to working with Pierce & Shearer LLP, I was an associate at Dillingham & Murphy, LLP where I practiced employment and business litigation. I am admitted to practice in both Arizona and California.
