I was subjected to a meritless restraining order by an ex-girlfriend, disgruntled primarily by that fact that I had chosen a new girlfriend over her, and meritless in the fact that she filled the petition weeks after I relocated nearly 500 miles away to start a life with my new partner. Having nev...er experienced a courtroom outside of a moving violation, I was highly unaware of the courtroom process and procedures. I was going through a very traumatic experience. Just got back from abroad where my Mom passed away, my husband hit me with the news that he wanted a divorce and was ready for me to leave our house and our cat.
