Alex was outstanding defending me in a meritless civil harassment restraining order case. Alex brought up many First Amendment issues, and in his cross exam of the petitioner, elicited that I had never contacted, called, e-mailed, faxed, etc., anything defined in California Code of Civil Procedure 5...27.6. The petitioner complained that I wrote "libelous" things on a blog about her (that she had crashed her car into a building and failed to take financial responsibility for it.) Of course, it was true and the petitioner lied under oath. The judge opened the case by stating on the record that he agreed with Mr Jones's Answer, that he (the judge) didn't know if he should even hear testimony, and asked the petitioner's attorney why he (the judge) was wrong. It was beautiful. During the hearing, Alex was polite yet determined with the petitioner and called her on her non-responsive or evasive answers. Alex did not back down and pursued questioning where the petitioner became angry and defensive. Alex explained his reasons for why he was doing what he did, and I appreciated that very much.

Adoption cases, we were told, are not always simple. Nine months ago we brought home a beautiful baby girl and needed to find an attorney to help us with the adoption.
