I had an H1B status but I've never worked for the sponsoring H1B employer and it's already been 4 months from the day that my status changed to H1B. During these months I did a lot of interviews and got a lot of offers for companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Capital One, etc. Interestingly none of them... though that I can start working for them without leaving the US to get a visa. The Microsoft lawyer didn't even accept my case and told me to solve my issue by myself!
