Did I commit a crime under German law?

Beibehaltungsgenehmigung. That's the word that kept popping into my head. Should I have applied for one of those a long time ago? Is it too late? That nagging feeling kept coming up. I scheduled an introductory phone call with Herrn Siegwart for a week out and eagerly anticipated resolution. M...r Siegwart patiently listened to my immigration history and the questions I had. He answered my questions. All of them. On the spot. And yes, he did stop my worries. He is one of those rare lawyers who want to fully understand and truly have their (prospective) clients interests at heart. I think I would have enjoyed working with him on my "case" - it's just that there was no case and I could just file my papers to resolve the situation. Thank you! While it was a short conversation and since he did indeed solve my issue I was surprised when he refused to invoice me for his time.

Highly recommended - Great support after car accident in USA

I retained Mr. Siegwart's legal services after I was innocently involved in a car accident as a pedestrian. The accident occured in November 2010, when I was in San Francisco as a tourist. Back in Germany, I contacted Mr. Siegwart and authorized him to handle my case concerning compensation, hospital... matters, and negotiations with my German insurances. From the beginning, he was very professional and reliable and discussed very well the possible actions and consequences. Throughout the long drawn out process, Mr. Siegwart's great knowledge and understanding of both German and American law was indispensable. Although it turned out that the case was much more time-consuming and complicated then we thought, he always provided me with valuable information and insights and encouraged me to carry on. I thank him for the huge support during this difficult time and for resolving the case with a very satisfying result. Therefore I can highly recommend Siegwart German American Law.

Very good service

Mr. Siegwart and his Assistant Mrs. Budirmi have been extremely helpful, competent and efficient in dealing with my case. Every inquiry was always answered promptly and politely. I will use their services again if needed and will certainly recommend Mr. Siewart to any of my friends.

Highly recommend - German citizenship matter

I retained Mr. Siegwart’s legal services earlier this year to assist with my application to retain my German citizenship (Beibehaltungsgenehmigung), prior to filing my application for US citizenship. All throughout this process, he and his assistants handled my case very professionally and cordially..., very patiently addressing many questions I had. He took the time to thoroughly understand my personal situation, readily agreed to meet in person when I happened to travel in the area of his office, and speedily processed my case after I provided all the necessary data and documents. In result, my application to retain my German citizenship (Beibehaltungsgenehmigung) was approved by the German Bundesverwaltungsamt in record time (less than three weeks). I wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Siegwart’s services for any German American legal matter.

Highly knowledgeable and fair price!

I retained Mr. Siegwart's services for a German citizenship matter, and I was most pleased with the representation Mr. Siegwart provided. He is extremeley knowledgeable of German citizenship law, resulting in my petition being approved very quickly. Working with Mr. Siegwart was very pleasant: H...e is always available to answer questions by phone, provide status updates, and process all the paperwork quickly and to my highest level of satisfaction. Unlike other attorneys who charge for every minute that you spend talking to them on the phone, Mr. Siegwart charged me a very fair flat fee. Overall, I would highly recommend Mr. Siegwart, and I will definitely use his services again for any future matters related to German law.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Mr. Siegwart is the attorney to call on for transnational legal issues involving US law, on one hand, and German/Austrian/Swiss law, on the other. I'm an attorney and I sought his advice on an issue that arose in a probate proceeding in Vienna. Austrian counsel was stuck on a choice of law issue, and Mr. Siegwart was familiar with the problem and gave us expert counsel on how to break the log jam we were facing."
