BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. I went through the "Beibehaltungs Genehmigung" in order to keep my German citizenship. I thought it was a lot of paper work and back and forth and lots of aggravation, etc., to apply for the Beibehaltungs Genehmigung. However, I can only say that I am still flabbe...rgasted how easy it was.
