Case Dismissed

First time DUI offender and I had no clue what to do, and here is the greatest part, I still don't know what to do. Ryan handled it all. My case was dropped and I still have my drivers license. A true no brainer. End of story. I will recommend his services to all of my knuckle-head buddies down t...he road.

Ryan Murphy Saved Me Thousands

I got a DUI in Monterey County and was arrested and taken to jail. When I got out I thought it would be a good idea to get a lawyer and found Mr. Murphy online. I met with Mr. Murphy at his office and he explained to me what would happen and what he would do for me. He was very knowledgeable and I ...was confident he would help me out greatly (which he did). This was my second DUI as I had received one when I was 17. The court charged me with a second offense. I would have had to go to jail and pay a much larger fine. I blew over a .15 so would have had to take an 18 month class which is significantly more expensive than the three month class. I would also have to have an interlock device on my car (this has a montly fee). With his knowledge and expertice, Mr. Murphy was able to have this offense charged as my first. He saved me from having to do jail time and from paying a much larger fine. Along with getting the case reduced to my first offense, he was able to have the court charge me as if I had blown under a .15. This reduced the class legnth I would have to take from 18 months to three months. It also meant I would not need an interlock device on my car. This saved me not only lots of time but also lots of money. Not to mention, through all of this, I did not have to go to court once. When I got my first DUI I did not get a lawyer and was charged to the full extent of the law. After my experience with Mr. Murphy, I wish I had got a lawyer for that case also; it would have been great to have him represent me there too! Overall I recommend anyone who gets a DUI to get a laywer. Mr Murphy would be your best choice. His experience and care will surely save you time and money and make the experience an easier one for you.

Ryan Murphy, a real advocate for his clients

I had the misfortune of being pulled over in Carmel for a DUI. I had a small quantity of marijuana on me in addition to a knife that I had brought along on a trip to the beach for carving sticks to make smores.To make matters worse, I had a fourteen-year old in the car, so I was also looking at a fe...lony charge for child endangerment. The DA loaded up the charges: DUI, possession of marijuana, weapons possession, child endangerment, refusal to submit to a breathalyzer...I was, needless to say, worried that I would be dealt with harshly. When all was said and done, Ryan had everything reduced to a simple DUI. It was quite a piece of work, and he accomplished it primarily through informal negotiations with the DA. Ryan knows the law, and as importantly he knows how to negotiate with the DA's in Monterey County. Had we gone to trial, I would likely have had my ass handed to me, but Ryan was able to spare me that ordeal. I cannot recommend Ryan highly enough for any of your criminal defense needs. He is communicative, knowledgeable, timely in getting back to you, and a generally nice guy. I will be recommending him to any friends I have that end up in need of help.

Driving under the influence

Mr. Murphy is very professional and prompt, If your there is any chance of winning the case then this is your guy. He will go to work for you, even if the case is not winnable he can help negotiate and win the best mitigation on your behalf. I highly recommend him, made a difference in my case.

Dui defense and criminal defense (148a)

I have used Ryan Murphy twice now on two different occassions and couldnt be more pleased with the results of both cases. I am a UCSC student and both of these charges happened in the Santa Cruz area. After I totalled my car, and was arrested with a DUI at the age of 20 in 2009, I called Ryan Mur...phy for help. He was straight forward and explained everything I needed to do. He took care of all the paper work, and even represented me in court without actually being present myself. I blew around a .16 BAC, twice the legal limit while being underage. I got off with just a 3 month program, and just 3 days of work release. Pretty much half the sentence I should have received. The second time I called Ryan for help was due to a 148a (resisting arrest) I received about a month ago in July of 2010. I was looking at a $1000 fine, a year in jail or both. He charged me a low price and took care of everything once again. On September 2, 2010 the day of my court date Ryan called me and told me the good news. He had the file completely erased. There were no charges, and nothing about the 148a on my record. I couldnt be more pleased with the excellent work Ryan did for me. Besides being a fantastic lawyer, he is down to earth, and easy to deal with unlike other lawyers. Id recommend him to all my friends and anyone else who needs help with a ticket or just simply needs legal advice.
