It was my birthday party, I’ve drunk a little and a bad guy just came. He really pissed me off and I kind of involved into a fight. Actually during the fight time, I could not remember anything because I was blank out. I came to my sense after a police told me that I was under arrested. Later they ...set me to a jail, and I stay there for more than 8 hours. A guy came to me once and told me that being arrest will affect my student Visa, and next time when I arrive in USA, I will get trouble because of this. I got shocked, but I asked him a stupid question,” Do I have to go to the court?” The guy looked at me, and said, “Son, you committed a crime and was arrested, and you ask me do you have to go to the court?” after I released, I felt very depressed and hopeless. I just ruined my future because the stupid action after drank. When I got home, I googled my case, and there was a person on the top of the list. His name is William Makler. I saw he has deal with DUI more than 2000 cases, and most of them were dismissed. It was Saturday, but I called him anyway. It was voice mailbox, and I left a message. Surprise, he called me back just half-hour late. We talked the case and what happened at that night, he gave a speech to me. Just at the time I saw him, I know I will hire him as my lawyer. He is so smart and nice. After we talked, I hired him. You know what, several days ago, I asked,” Do I have to go to the court?” Mr. Makler helped me to got the “Case was rejected.” And I really do not need to go to the court. Being an international student, he cares about this a lot. When he tries to explain something to me, he always makes it easy to understand. Some months ago, I got into trouble, which resulted in a misdemeanor charge of a very unpleasant nature. It was, so to speak, my criminal début. First, let me confirm what all the other reviewers are saying. William Makler is a trustworthy and straight forward atty. I was pulled over and tested for DUI and subsequently arrested and taken to jail. I personally did not think I was intoxicated, but the way the police treat you during t...he whole process makes you start to doubt yourself. When i got out i was completely overwhelmed with all the information that friends and the internet were giving me. Should i get an atty, or just plead guilty? If I got an atty, how much should i expect to spend? I decided to at least talk to an atty and see what i could expect. Consultations are free. I will tell you that i did not call William Makler first. While speaking with the first atty, I was given a very forward and very aggressive sales pitch as to the process of fighting the DUI. Everything he said made sense, but I decided I should call at least one more atty to compare their styles and opinions. It was the best call i ever made. Makler was calm, collected and listened to my situation very carefully. When i was finished, he gave me his analysis of what would probably happen which was significantly different from the first atty, and to top it off Makler was literally half the price. In addition, he told me if my case did not got to trial he would refund a big portion of his fee back to me. And guess what? The case was dismissed (as he suggested it would be) and he sent me the refund back the next day. If i had chosen the first atty and my case had been dismissed like it was i would be out the entire fee that the first atty wanted. Makler literally saved me thousands! In addition, every single email i sent to him was answered almost immediately. I had a thousand questions, and he answered them all patiently and accurately. I am a 24 independent single woman and was arrested for a DUI a few months back (Dec 2010) This charge would have been detrimental to life as well as my job and I did a fair share of researching attorneys in Santa Barbara to help me.
